Can anyone please explain to me...

Post by ka959 »

In the easiest way possible, if do you get the 2-D map to show up in the edit mode, and then select a certain spot on that map, and go to it, bringing up the actual picture, or screen graphic, and so wherever you select on the 2-D map, will actually show up in the selected place. I'm trying to bring up, on the Coniston Branch, the Foxfield Station area, and show the station itself on the screen itself. I seem to think that now there's TS2015 out, they've appeared to have made changes to the way you move around the screen, getting the 2-D map to show first, and then move to, say, the actual Conniston Station area, and show you've actually moved to Coniston, on the screen. Can you actually make sense of what I'm trying to say, here ?

All I need to know, from someone who understands TS2015, and how to make scenarios and other stuff, how you are able to move around the screen, properly. If you are able to get what I mean, then fine. Just tell me how you do it. My brain seems to have caused me to forget how to move around, from 2-D to 3-D screen, if you can grasp me here ? I have a brain problem, which is making me forger things a bit, but I only have to refresh my memory a little, and it all helps tremendously ! Thanks a lot, if you can assist me with this, and thanks for whatever you can provide, here.

Regards...

Jim,

If I understand you correctly,

Open the 2D map. Place the screen cursor to wherever on the route you wish to go to and double left-click on the mouse while pressing the Ctrl key on the keyboard.

You will see that the longitude/latitude coordinates displayed in the box near the top of the screen will have changed.

Now close the 2D map and re-enter the simulator world and you will be in the new location. You might well be underground if the new location is at a higher altitude so you will then need to ascend above ground level to see exactly where you are.

Once he has loaded the coordinates, does he not have to press the little triangle button on the compass to load the area he wants to go ? Or does the double click auto do that for you as I've only ever single clicked.

Sorry, I forgot to reply sooner, but it was correct the first one, and the second reply, was right, as it would be so, if I set the program (Windows 7) to one click, which is what I normally do, and the first guy said "double-click", as that's what he has as a nornal way of doing things, I guess. Either methid still gets the same result, though, so no harm done, either way !

The first email WAS correct in what I originally meant, and he was correct in assuming what I was getting at. This reply worked for me, and it was exactly what I wanted, actually ! The location I clicked in the 2-D map, correctly moved to the 2nd location, as I wanted it to do. Mission accomplished !

And many thanks to the other guy, for his correctness in assuming that was what I was getting at. I actually thought I'd have to explain it all over a second time, but no. Thanks a lot !
