Just a warning For Next Tuesday

Next Tuesday (14th April) Grand Theft Auto V is being released on Steam so expect a big surge and maybe a few problems. I don't know how effected logging into Steam will be to start TS2015 or any game but maybe it'd be best, if you have no need to have Steam online, to take the precaution of going into offline mode on Monday so when you start Steam on Tuesday you will be in offline mode and not be effected by any issues.

I've been using Steam now since 2011 and I have never known it go down or suffer due to a game release. A lot of people here don't seem to understand what Steam actually does and how it interacts with the end user. The release of GTA V will have no impact on users of TS2015.

It's also on Pre-Load, available 2 days ago, so many will already have downloaded it, or will do so before Tuesday.

I am expecting something like this to happen again since there are so many PC GTA 5 gamers.

Following a Steam update I've found it impossible to log back in today - guess I'll just have to wait until the panic is over.

Might be some issues with Steam, but doubt it.
Especially since lots of people for GTA V brought it outside of steam so don't need to touch it. Now if it was Half Life 3 i would expect Valve/ Steam to explode

Doesn't Rockstar host GTA's online servers, and not Steam? If that is the case, which I'm pretty confident on, then we shouldn't see any issues arising on release day, as the game is available for preloading right now, which I'd imagine distributes a lot of the server load over the next few days.

As someone who has purchased GTA V on PC, I'm definitely using the pre-load function with Steam so that I can play the game immediately on release. I'm sure a lot of people are doing the same so if any issues were to happen with steam with the influx of people using GTA V, I'm sure we would of had them by now so I should imagine we're in the clear.

Sorry, but as one of many people to pre-order Grand Theft Auto V through another website, I can only speculate. But I feel that Steam is going to be under heavy load, which may affect the workshop, store, and syncing games on Steam. It is set to be one of the biggest game releases of all time, so pjt1974 had the right idea about warning the community.
