Update 09/04

Post by Will »

Just wondered if anybody could enlighten me on a update that has just come through. Mine was 950MB(ish) but cannot remember the .txt file to check in the RailWorks directory to see what has been updated, and the DTG news feed is of no help as they just seem to be pushing the 4EPB and NSE 159. I also sorted the directorys folders by date but it says the last folder edit was the 06/04, which was somthing I did.

Anybody know?

Just done a run on the Riviera. Still got the wonderful and realistic white hills.
Come on DTG, get your act together and sort out all the old outstanding problems. Please.

I see that the open mesh of the high fence at Dawlish has been restored.

I've only tried one run in overcast on Riviera, but no white hills, just rather realistic dull grey.

That's new? Just tried a quick drive on JT's Newcastle to Edinburgh route and a window told me that the scenario was memory intensive and that I needed to save often, never noticed those before.

A Steam update isn't going to have any impact on a non-Steam product Martin.

I understand what you are saying, but it still uses the core program? Has anyone else seen this warning prior to this update?

Don't panic Martin!

Yes I got that warning on a QD on that route at least a couple of weeks ago, so it is nothing to do with the recent update!

The white hills were so bad that I couldn't bear to run some routes. I installed the White Hills fix on here which improved things a bit.
I think the update has overwritten that fix and I have to say the hills are now much improved ,grey or greyish blue in the distance but massively better than that awful white.
I just ran night and day scenarios down Riviera for the first time since the update and it looks great now.
However ,as reported above, sometimes the game is freezing on certain scenarios on Newcastle-Edinburgh for example.

I'd say have you reported it to dovetail, but seeing as it's JT they'll just say that 3rd party products aren't officially supported so you'd better off go to JT first anyway.
