Anyone know how to....

Post by ka959 »

If you're building a station on your own route, and wish to place a wooden plank fence, say between a rural wire fence either side of the sloping ends of a platform - got this, now, the long wooden fence is straight, like I wish to do it, but, ininstead of being straight, from the end you start the wooden fence, it immediately angles up in a straight line to the end. This never used to happen in the past, when I made similar types of fences, it just finished at the other end of the platform (opposite the end, against the next rural wire fence. Does anyone happen to know how to keep this fence flat on the ground, without it angling upwards ? Please try to help with this, if you know something about fence creation. It never occurred with Railworks, ever ! Something, but what, controls the creation of a fence ?

Regards...

Perhaps you have the 'snap to terrain' button on? I can't remember now whether it's in the top-left or bottom-left flyout when you're laying lofts.

I agree, you get this when the snap to terrain is on, rather annoying to find the loft shooting skywards. I find it always best to have it off and use the height adjusting option afterwards, if you are going up a hill you need to underground to raise an end though. In such circumstances I find it best to lay it in short strips unless it is straight.

If you are following a loft that has already been laid, use the offset option and it will then follow the first loft's contours, might need a little tinkering in places though.

Also check that you haven't inadvertently set a gradient for the loft to follow---same box as the 'snap to terrain' button I believe.

Fence on left laid with 'snap to terrain' enabled, the one on the right with the value of '1' set in the gradient box
