The model isn't the acquired, 'secondhand' one, it would appear it is the modified one that was used for 'NORTH STAR' as included in the WSR Diesels pack.

Has anyone bought the new 47s and can provide a report on what they are like please?

I see, I'll have a look around too and see if I can find out how it's done. A few from the UKTS Freeware pack work but a good chunk don't as I'm guessing that they are the ones based on the discontinued pack.

Obviously IKB cant be renumbered in the editor. I hope 47623 can be however, as this particular duff was never allocated to Scotland, let alone Inverness and never even carried large logo blue.
And before anyone suggests that I buy it and find out, not a chance at that price.

I am hoping that they will release a pre marker light headcode version of the 47 at some stage in BR blue livery with TOPS and pre TOPS numbering.

Well, 47840 in the WSR Diesels pack has a headcode panel, so it's just something for the reskinners to do (I want to, but I'm far too pre-occupied at the moment).

I have done this loco as 1661 in BR blue, but it is just that headlight that brings out the rivet counter in me

If Armstrong Powerhouse updates their sound pack to support these 47's and the WCMLoS 47...

Late reply but I think AP stated that they couldn't update the WCMLoS Class 47 sounds due to the scripting.

£2.99 at a push £4.99 sorry.. or maybe DTG are being really sharp (surely not?) and have noticed marketplace items seem to get reduced at sale times so people buy them then, So at £4.99 reduced to £2.49? the customer thinks he's getting a good deal and DTG make a few more pennies
Funny old world - the Marketplace 47's are in the March Madness Sale - for £2.49 each..
Great!

This is strange, why would DTG do this with so many suitable Class 47 numbers to choose from. I found this interesting website with the history of all 47s:
http://www.class47.co.uk/c47_numbers.ph ... loco=47623 and the info for 47623 confirms what you state here, 1S81. As 47623 (now 47843) it was allocated to Old Oak Common (OC), Cardiff Canton (CF) and Crewe Diesel (CD), that is far away from the Highlands I guess, and wore the standard BR 'Monastral Blue' livery all its life as 47623, which I think (not sure) means no large logo etc. It was also named 'VULCAN' btw until June 1989 when the plates were removed.
I was thinking about getting it in the sale but now I don't know.

Edit: This website is pretty amazing. You can even filter by livery type. Doing so I found this picture of a suitably numbered 47 for this skin: 47614 based at Inverness, here:
http://www.class47.co.uk/c47_zoom_v3.ph ... 5010344000 Only difference is that 47614 has the black window framing extended to include the top part of the doors. The reskin 47623 only covers front & side windows; oh well.
Question now is, can this number and the extended black be edited?

The class 47 pro soundpack I believe covers the WSR diesel pack so if these new locos are based on that model AP should be able to produce sounds for them. Indeed the supplied tool in the sound pack to apply the sounds to any cl47 should hopefully apply the sounds for you.
As there are plenty of good cl47 reskins available for both kuji and shap 47s I will hold off on these for now.
I too am still waiting for br blue headcode version so I can stop having to use the cl47 with working headcodes that is included in the unmentionable bonus extra stock pack. It looks ok and is passable for ai traffic but could do with updating and is of course no longer available . . .

Has anyone else thought that this model is under powered? I mean if it can't climb out of Torquay up to Torre with load 8 at more than 18mph I think something may be amiss..
and a max of 93mph on Brunels billiard table between Reading and Paddington.. hmm...
