I always preferred to work panel 4 (Bedford) when I was at WHPSB. It was fun getting the evening binliner into platform 1 and run-round with all the other stuff coming in!pjt1974 wrote:The thing with the base content producer is they are always going to be shot at from all quarters at one time or another. Back to the route. I was surprised how busy Bedford was when I watched the Railcam from there. I didn't realise how many services start or terminate there.
Just looking on Real Train Times, I counted 18 services starting or terminating at Bedford between 16:00 and 18:00. Admittedly, that's rush hour services. Between 11:00 and 13:00 it was 17 services starting and terminating at Bedford. Not too shabby, although, once you've ran one or two Thameslink services into St.Pancras you've run them all. A bit like the Liverpool Manchester route which I label as a 'quickdrive' route, end to end, not too much interest in the middle. I won't be rushing to purchase upon release, Easter maybe.

But the Electric service Does end at Bedford - which is the point of this route. And today, because of Flooding at Farringdon, the services is Only running St Pancras LL to Bedford.david1 wrote:That may be true but the real line ends at Brighton, so any scenarios can be based on real services, ending at Bedford where many expresses don't stop at makes unreal scenarios.749006 wrote:Also people are complaining that the route is only 50 miles long but London to Brighton is only 51 miles long - no complaints about short distance that I remember.

Re: Dovetail Games MML London Bedford Route
I agree with 749006, I think the point is it's for Thameslink services, it woul be nice if it was like the MSTS addon (who was that by again?) which ended at Blackfriars I believe, and IIRC it had the Moorgate branch.
I know some people say Leicester is a natrual ending point, but is it though? Bedford has FCC services terminating there, there are a few EMT services that call here as well, I believe all the Corby services call there.

I agree with both your points of view. What I do think is a shame is that DTG/RSC have a tendency to just build a route and then just leave it. It would be nice if they were to make add-ons that could be joined with existing routes. For example in this instance another section of the MML that takes in the East Midlands section of the line up to Derby and Nottingham.749006 wrote:But the Electric service Does end at Bedford - which is the point of this route. Or finishing off the scenery on the ECML.

@ Rich How you never ended up going mad on the signals I don't know. I think half an hour on a signal panel and information overload would cause my head to explode!!!!!!!
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it

I think he's referring to the Hertford Loop. Yes, it's a tough gig which is why I left sometime ago and became a web developer instead! Much more sociable hours too!pjt1974 wrote:Have I missed something?CraigGilmour wrote:

Re: Dovetail Games MML London Bedford Route
Finally I have been waiting for this route for so long. Even it is Bedford to St Pancras it will still be a purchase from me
Would be an added bonus though if it does connect to London Bridge so I can do Bedford to Brighton.

A new picture from the Rail Simulator Facebook page, looks like we will be getting the lower levels of St Pancras

Maybe the route is set in 2014 before the merger. St Pancras LL looks good, but still waiting for news on AI Class 43 EMT.

Re: Dovetail Games MML London Bedford Route
I don't know if a EMT Class 43 would be made by DTG - If they don't have a licence with Stagecoach - and the lack of the Class 159 might be a clue - then it's not coming.

Now that DTG have their own Voyager surely a 222 wouldn't be too hard to rustle up?
