I've come to the conclusion the missing viaducts are Falmouth branch assets and the dodgy speeds are a result of -All YARD TR-.bin being missing - haven't a clue where that should go.
It looks like a brilliant route but I'm just about ready to give up hunting for missing files and generally troubleshooting

Is -All YARD TR-.bin actually shown as being a track object when you check the route with RW Tools?

Loft item according to RW Tools....
I'm going to try to change the speeds myself using the Network Rail reference stuff but I'd love to be able to replace the mission bridges and viaducts without shelling out another £20... any ideas?

Then it doesn't matter one bit, and will have nothing to do with the speeds being *odd*
It's one of the games little foibles that lofts and roads can pick up the trackrule that's been in use: causes no harm but a hell of a lot of confusion if said rule isn't available. Not the first time, nor will it be the last, that this has happened.

What are the names of the files that are associated with the missing bridges?

Not sure, I'll look when I'm free but one of them is the big viaduct just south of Anyho junction

Hi Guys,
Thanks very much for the last few posts. It has enabled me to solve the missing lights folder that I was also having.

Again, Thank You.

If anybody else is missing the odd bits and bobs that are from payware routes, please post the file names and between us we'll be able to come up with reasonable alternatives.

....that's the theory anyway

Well Matt you are doing a sterling job there, this is in no way intended as detrimental to the author but the original track work put me off after awhile and I uninstalled the route  I am overly pernickety with things like that  ! But kudos to all those making something good even better! Good luck to you.

That's what it is all about for me too. Had photon been this picky he probably wouldn't be 25% finished on the route. As it is, we got a great starting point and as there is such community drive to get it up and running this means the route can only get better. I'll carry on with my bits and hopefully other talented people will find other things that they can add too.
Deja Vu-what happened to the WCML London-Birmingham route?

Which is great as long as they all aren't doing conflicting things. There are a lot of badly (if at all) rendered points, that's hardly a wee *tweak* for anybody to see to and if anybody does and releases it, it would (could) wipe out the wee tweak done by Joe Bloggs who went along and lowered the point motors to below the track.

Code: Select all

<GeometryID d:type="cDeltaString">RSDL\IslandLine\Lights\[00]point_light</GeometryID>
?
Yes, that would tidy things up *properly* and is basically what the newer file in the IOW contains.
Seems my previous reply went missing ! :-?

OK did that, altered the.bin file to find the .geo in RSDL. Lights still work and it should be more efficient. I'm sure there are others who can benefit from this method. Thanks for your valued input.

It's a valid method to compare actual cost regardless of where the money goes to that is needed to run something but it should never ever be an excuse for criticizing someone else's work.

There are many ways to skin this particular cat, none of which are any more *right* than any other, as long as they make 'sense' within the structure of the game. Unfortunately many are put off by the seemingly complicated nature of the files used in the game and end up building problems on top of problems. The cloud to the silver lining of having so much customisation and user created stuff possibly?

I have "passed" through the route in the Route Editor because none of the scenarios work due to missing assets, this is my own fault because I'm not really into modern stuff... especially Chiltern.

So I then decided to create a scenario with a Blue and Grey feel to it but the marker file is full of all sorts of stuff and that made it difficult, so I have re written the marker file to contain the major stations from where scenarios are likely to start.... hope this helps....

It's currently awaiting approval but the file number should be ... 33727

Remember... always backup the the original

milepost326.

I have emailed Pete asking to reject the file as you did not seek my permission to change anything within the route. If you had changed the marker file for your personal use only then there would be no problem.

Sorry if that seems heavy-handed but it's a courteous detail that I feel should not have been left out.
Regards.

Dave.
