I didn't say my setup file, I said my file setup! i.e., the file structure on my computer. Big difference!

I've got all Assets according to RW Tools and although the route runs fine, I don't have any signals whatsoever. What could I be missing here?
Thanks

Couple of things I've noticed... quickly hopping in and setting off bound for High Wycombe... got a few bridge decks missing, checking RW tools for the culprit file.
Also, speed limits on the HUD seem crazy, jumping between 125 and 5... confused!

This post is worth what you paid for it.

I just altered the first platform stop for 1H47 to the Up platform at Warwick Parkway rather than the DOWN platform. That seemed to do the trick.

Does this mean, if you only have the RSDL Island Line installation , you will not have it ?chrisonline wrote:As long as you are looking (very specifically, without spaces) for:oldowl wrote:Hi,
Great route.
In RWTools it tells me I am missing RSDL Island Line\Lights\Pointlight_StationLight.bin
I had a look but no folder named Lights. Re downloaded and installed the route, but still no Light folder.
Any ideas please? Thanks, Rob
Assets\RSDL\IslandLine\Lights\Pointlight_StationLight.bin, then it is in my file setup. It is for the IOW route, as I am sure you know!. The folder contains many other bin files as well, and I believe is all part of the original IOW installation
RWTools tells me it should be in "Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSDL\IslandLine\Lights\Pointlight_StationLight.bin", but I don't have it. Can anyone help me to find it or is there a substitute available ?
This is a fantastic route and a monumental effort by photons66,who deserves our special thanks.Well worth all the searching for missing assets. Now if I could just find those pesky station lights !
Re: Chiltern Mainline - by Photons66
OK Found it ,I hope!. In my installation, the .bin file and associated textures are in "RailWorks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\lights\pointlight_stationlight.bin". I have just copied the "Lights" folder from RailsimulatorUS and placed it in "RSDL\IslandLine" . I think that this should work.Springer6 wrote:Does this mean, if you only have the RSDL Island Line installation , you will not have it ?chrisonline wrote:As long as you are looking (very specifically, without spaces) for:oldowl wrote:Hi,

Possibly, but the .bin file will just be pointing to the folder it came out of so it's a bodge at best.
You'd be better swapping the light with RW Tools, but if you have the IOW route you should have the light.

Hi, he will have the lights folder if he has the updated version bought via steam - if he has any of the previous versions, they wouldn't have been updated automatically.

Thanks for clearing that up Mark, so that leaves actually swapping the IOW light as the better option.markpullinger wrote:Hi, he will have the lights folder if he has the updated version bought via steam - if he has any of the previous versions, they wouldn't have been updated automatically.
Re: Chiltern Mainline - by Photons66
I did not have the .bin file in RSDL/IslandLine ( I think I may have bought this route as a DVD years ago, as on checking I can't find it in my Steam inventory) so I used the RailsimulatorUS version of the lights folder, as I described above. This works well, the route seems to be looking for and finding the copied "Lights" folder in the correct location i.e. "RSDL\IslandLine" and I now have lights at Stations. However this point light system is not as good as many of the more modern lights, maybe the US version is a different .bin than the one some people have in their RSDL folder, even though it has the same name ?gptech wrote:Thanks for clearing that up Mark, so that leaves actually swapping the IOW light as the better option.markpullinger wrote:Hi, he will have the lights folder if he has the updated version bought via steam - if he has any of the previous versions, they wouldn't have been updated automatically.
Is there a better suggested point light that I could use to swap ? If not the US version works ok.

Yes, but it's *messy*.Springer6 wrote:This works well, the route seems to be looking for and finding the copied "Lights" folder in the correct location i.e. "RSDL\IslandLine"
The .bin file for the light you've copied to ..\RSDL\IslandLine contains the line:
Code: Select all
<GeometryID d:type="cDeltaString">Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\Lights\[00]point_light</GeometryID>This kind of 'mis-match' can give rise to problems, quite possibly if you used the asset in a route that also doesn't have the RailSimulatorUS provider enabled.
ECML (Newcastle to York)
Hagen - Siegan
Bath - Templecombe
Oxford - Paddington
Poertsmouth Direct (Guildford & District)
Woodhead
all have a Pointlight_StationLight.bin file, perhaps one of those would be more appropriate.

Yes, I see your point about the .bin file calling for a .Geo file from RailSimulatorUS. It may indeed be better to use a pointlight from another route that is already enabled for Chiltern ML i.e. PDL or Woodhead.
As a matter of interest, do you think it would be possible to edit the .bin file now in the RSDL\IslandLine folder to read, for instance, "<GeometryID d:type="cDeltaString">RSDL\IslandLine\Lights\[00]point_light</GeometryID>[/code]" ?

Yes, that would tidy things up *properly* and is basically what the newer file in the IOW contains.Springer6 wrote:As a matter of interest, do you think it would be possible to edit the .bin file now in the RSDL\IslandLine folder to read, for instance,?Code: Select all
