HI All

A friend of mine who has been in possession of the Western Lines of Scotland route for some considerable time, has suddenly found that when he drives eastwards from Dumfries towards Annan, with any loco and stock formation, that about 5 miles out of Dumfries, the tracks and fields etc suddenly appear to be floating in mid air ! The route worked perfectly when he first purchased it.

I have checked MY version and I have no problems.

Can anyone help please ?

Sounds like some files have been corrupted somehow.
Get him/her to do the following.
On steam go to library, games, then right click on TS 15. Left click properties and DLC on next tab.
Scroll this list for WLOS and un-tick the install box. Then close Steam. Wait a minute or two the re-open steam.
Repeat the above and re-tick the install box. This will start a download of the WLOS route only and put back any missing/corrupt files. Look for the blue download line at the bottom.
When it's done re-try the scenarios etc.

Could be worth trying a defrag first. You do tend to have a problem in Trainsim that when you are loading in tiles it sometimes stutters. Usually this is with a band of texture being put in the wrong place, but occasionally its resulted in height tiles not being loaded.

Try defragging it, and if that makes no difference then it might be worth looking at the above suggestion. Alternatively it might be the hard drive is on the way out and its taking too long to load stuff. Probably not, but its a possibility worth keeping in mind.

It isn't were lofts have been used to form embankments under the track and the detail settings have been reduced is it?

Thanks for the replies so far.

My friend has a brand new PC so it wouldnt be a hard drive wearing out. He has a Solid State Drive fitted, and you should NEVER defrag a SSD, so that excludes that issue too.

I think his only option would be as suggested, to uninstall WLOS and reinstall it again.

If anyone else can think of a reason for his probs I would like to keep this thread going for just a tad longer.

I'm a little confused by:

as fields are generally the ground!

Things don't usually "just go wrong", there has to be a reason/cause so the obvious question is "What has he/she added/changed recently?--not just in this route but in the whole game"
