Got my free EO3. Thanks VR. Can't understand Jstange comment, where did you hear that from, does it really matter!!!!
Well now have to wait for someone to write some scenarios for it. I suppose it is quick drive enabled ?
I was just looking at my VR manuals and didn't realise VR made the Alco for Horseshoe Curve which I purchased in the sale.

Nice coincidence, I just opened the forum to send my big thank you to vR for the great advent sale, so thanks a lot, Ice, I would never say it better. Although most of the really attractive items like BR156 and BR120 I already had before the sale, I purchased some of the great freight wagons and other smaller stuff.

Thank you very much, vR, it was fun opening your shop every day, wondering what's on sale that day; and today's free gift is truly magnificent and it does not matter the secret was revealed two days ago...

A Big Thanks for VR for this Christmas Present, and for the whole range of Advent Calender sales!

I spent way more than I could have imagined... Now I need to find time to play with it all! ;-)

Are there any activities already with the new E03? Or only QD so far?

Cheers,

I would like to echo these comments. Although I am not a business person the idea of a different item each day strikes me as a very good sales technique. Given the generous discounts I hope it has been financially worthwhile for VR.

Merry Christmas to them and a prosperous New Year.

You would have to check the Downloads page of VR for any scenarios.
But it's easy to swap with RW Tools :)

I did not yet see any on their download page, that's why I asked here! :-)

And loco-swapping in RWTools, somehow I always do something wrong :-/ Loco numbers don't change so they show wrong in TS201x, and often modified rolling stock reverts back to the original so I have to edit it again :-/

I am so glad i discovered Virtual Railroads, and especially their Expert Line loco's... that was due to the GetGames sale a few months ago where i got the Br111 sets for around 3 euro's each,

I'm now hooked on the expert line loco's, and got the Br120 yesterday, and of course the free E03 today,
going back to driving non VR trains is going to be hard, and whilst i do like driving the German EMU's like the Br423 and Tallent 2, i can only wonder how amazing those loco's would be if Vr got to work their magic on them,

These expert line loco's have given me a load of new control calls to work through so i can have the MFA/dashboard displayed in a 2nd monitor via ZusiDisplay, these ExpertLine loco's have most items working that other TS loco's don't... simple one being the Catenary line voltage, i had to fake it to get the gauge to display 15Kv, but the Br120 at least has a working voltage gauge that does move about the 15Kv mark a little as you travel along, be nice to see that gauge moving rather than static... all adds to the immersion i am trying to get.

Yes, thank you vR for the nice long sale. Their products are top notch.
I cleared the two from my wishlist plus another I hadn't considered.
And then as icing on the Christmas cake, this E03.

Indeed a very nice Christmas gift to be thankful for. I'm just annoyed that I was misled into thinking that there had been an official announcement long before there was, talk about appearances being deceptive.

By the way - I have strange problem with Expert Line locomotives from vR

tried this on E03, 103, 111, 120, 253 (all Expert Line)

In manuals there is always sugesstion that brakes should be set to 4.7 - none of my trains moving with that set.. I should move the brake level to 5.0 to drive

I am thinking that I always made the same mistake but I have no clue what I am doing wrong..

tested a dozen times with both manual and automatic start (ctrl-z) on each loco - cannot move when brakes is set to 4.7 bar ..

any ideas?

Brake setting to 4.7 is within the startup procedure, not for driving. The manual says "release the brakes" what is meaning 5.0BAR. The 4.7 should be done because the loco have a emergency braking applied after scenario start. To decrease the time you need to start your run after setting the loco up. To drive you need to release the brakes.
