TS all bleached out

Post by mojo12012 »

A new one for me in 5 years of TS. Not sure whether it's the latest update or the 9f download I'd just bought, but when I started up TS today, a week since I'd last run it, the graphics are all bleached out, the intro screens and the sim itself, to the point where the text is barely readable. Managing to load a scenario did no good as the same bleached out graphics presented themselves. I hadn't updated my NVidia drivers recently, nothing had changed as far as I know with the rest of the PC. I've done the verify game cache, cleared blueprints etc., but no joy. Support suggested updating graphics drivers which I did, but still the same bleached out screen. As far as I can see no other programmes are affected. Anyone come across this before?

I have just purchased the 9F and ran TS and all is ok. Check in your in game graphics setting that the brightness slider has not somehow moved. If that is alright check your graphics card settings. Have you tried rebooting your PC ? doing that quite often fixes problems.

Thanks for the suggestions Trev. However, no joy. Brightness slider makes no difference, or rebooting, clearing cache, verifying etc. Ticket gone off to support but not sure what they could suggest as it doesn't seem to affect anything else on my system. Does anyone know how you roll back a Steam update, or if it can be done, presuming this is the problem? I tried restoring the PC to a day before the update, but no change. Just hope I can fix it before Newcastle to Edinburgh comes out. Any helpful suggestions would be welcome.

I don't want to suggest something so daft, but have you checked the monitor cable into the graphics output?

Thanks Deltic. I did check that initially but checked again just to be sure. Still the bleached screen. Also, TS is taking a lot longer to load than usual. Before it was almost instantaneous. I've tried various programmes and no sign of this in them.

Hi, someone on the Steam users forum advised me to look at the brightness control. I had noticed it was all the way up yesterday and moved it to halfway without effect. In fact I should have saved it after I'd adjusted it, and then restarted TS. Tried again today, came out of TS, restarted and that's worked. How the brightness control changed is anyone's guess as I'm the only one who uses this computer, and I rarely change the settings. Certainly haven't been there recently. TS is still taking a lot longer to load than before, but at least I can see it properly now. Hope the solution works for you, Alex.

Alex, when you go to Drive, up in the top right hand control you will see "Settings". If you click on that then you have access to the video and sound settings. That's where the brightness control is.

Hi

The only options I have are: Graphics, Gameplay, Audio, Controls, Tools and Credits and none of them have "brightness control" in it.

Alex
Open TS2015 = choose settings top right hand corner - a window opens and there is a sliding scale called "brightness" below the Dynamic Lighting and Sky options.
However it is always best to adjust the monitor brightness, contrast etc in Windows to get best general results and then adjust in TS2015

I guess that the OP had ticked dynamic lighting (TSX ON) as that can have a dramatic effect on brightness?

Start the game.
Top right is the settings - click that.
A window opens - should already be in Graphics, slider is on the right about half way down.
FYI my slider is set in the middle.

Edit - Peter beat me to it :-)
