The SPT class 303 is now released for £7.99 with 3 scenarios on the WCML north route.

Had a play, and I'm sure other users will agree, that a lot more could have been done to bring this up to spec.

Good points include the addition of an interior view, albeit a camera positioned in the body shell. The exterior is quite nice.

But a few points they really shouldn't have missed out on:
- no door open/close sounds
- no bogie rumble sound
- I would question the motor sounds
- old Railworks headlight scripting

My only hope now is that in time, someone like AP can come up with a compromise hybrid sound pack.

When you say this Xavier, do you mean it's the old lighting (i.e. it doesn't shine on track) or has it got the Dynamic Lighting that came in with TSX in 2012?

Bought this straight away due to the good price. The actual model is very nice and the cab is OK.
The sounds are the worst part as always. The traction motor sounds are from the 421/422/423 and the horn sounds like a slightly altered class 37. I can cope with these as it sounds alright going along. The problem is the total silence when the power controller is in notch 0. You are definately best to leave it in notch 1 even when braking! If it had any running sounds I think it would be fine but total silence doing 70mph is not good.
Overall 7/10.

Look at the rear lights:

They're not Dynamic. The light source is transparent so you can see the lamps through it.

Not so much the headlights then as the tail lights. They're just as the original version, which cost £16 (+VAT) coming with 2 other liveries, a *free* class 82 but only QD consists as opposed to *real* scenarios.
For half the original price continuity is preserved, it seems to have no new faults and at least this one is open to rekinning---I can't see much to complain about!

Bar the sound but yes I suppose.

Did they seriously include a Class 82 for use in AI traffic?

I was so praying for this to have had a half decent revamp, its a lovely model so badly let down by the poor sounds. Sadly unless AP work their magic (Even just with the southern electric sounds) this'll be a massive body swerve for me.

Comes to something when that sounds like a selling point! :D

"They" was "He", a on-man outfit but we can't really discuss it in here (http://www.uktrainsim.com/index2.php?fo ... eport=1451)

Just as ensuring the availability of old stock is a minus point then?
I can't recall such a fuss when AP ensured that the DT coaches would be available after the dropping from the DT catalogue, have they had a major revamp (as opposed to extra liveries, other additions in the packs) ?

Hopefully a tweak to the existing AP421 sounds will come along shortly at least as a temporary fix. Might not be strictly accurate but they would be pretty close.
