Has it been implemented yet ? because checking my routes folder I can see no folder with todays date or yesterdays other than the ones I've added to myself, certainly not those ones mentioned in the list. Oh!! I did get a small update for this one though: Norfolk Southern Coal District

So, has the dust mostly settled on TS2015 (RW6?) now? Are most people happily playing scenarios post-upgrade without anything obvious being broken (that wasn't already broken in TS2014)?

I've stayed offline since the upgrade came out but am starting to think I can probably stick my head above the parapet now... Having had a quick look at the new menus in a Youtube video they don't look all that bad, and it sounds like I can swap the old ones back if I really want.

Thoughts and comments?

Thanks all!

Has anyone tried the beta patch, does it improve anything?

I've tried it (still got it) but haven't noticed anything - not that I've specifically gone looking for anything mind.

Generally, if TS2014 worked for you, TS2015 should too. Personally, most scenarios are working fine as before, however I am finding some heavy scenarios (lots of AI stock and detailed routes) are struggling sometimes and a couple of those scenarios that ran ok for me in TS2014 won't start in TS2015, it seems to run out of memory even more easily than before, though as I say most scenarios are still fine.

The menu system in TS2015 is, however, another story. Many people (myself included) don't like the new layout, its harder to use, slower and you can't just have an alphabetical list of scenarios for a particular route any more, so finding a specific scenario is now much more of a task. The good news for you, as you still have an intact TS2014 installation is that you can copy over some 2014 files into 2015 and keep the old menu system (there is a thread here on how to do so).

So in general, I'd say yes, the dust has pretty much settled. However equally, unless you want the West Highland Extension route (which is fantastic) or some very new scenarios that use TS2015 features, there's also nothing new...

I have forgotten what the menu system looks like in TS2014 as I have got use to the one in TS2015. I can easily find scenarios with no problems. Sometimes if I want to drive a particular loco I just click on the loco icon under the profile button, select it then click on the button right hand bottom corner and up pops the routes and scenarios it uses, mind you this only works for DTG locos. I think those who think they are struggling with TS2015 should just forget about TS2014 and get on with it like I have, and I would suspect others.

The new menus are confusing and messy and will take some getting used to. I'm getting the hang of it but they don't work well. Like others said, unless you want to purchase some new DLC and therefore need your Steam client to download things for TS, no real need to upgrade.

I'm hoping that they will take feedback regarding the menus to heart and release a path with reworked menu system before TS2016 comes out!

They did after all have a feedback thread specifically regarding the menus / UI.

(See Give us you feedback about: TS2015 Menu design)

Good morning everyone,

The choice of colours in the menu is rather poor, lacking contrast. Their size is also on the small side. With regard to TS2015 itself, both pre- and post-patch, I'm unable to loadvarious into the simulator at all, yet they work perfectly well in TS2014.

Does anyone else here have that issue?.

Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

Indeed - new DLC and/or Workshop scenarios are my likely drivers...

Yes Bob, I have some scenarios that won't start in TS2015 (or crash part way through) that ran fine in TS2014. It seems that TS2015 uses more memory than TS2014 did and so heavy routes and scenarios are running out of resources faster than before. I have 8GB which should be plenty for a 32-bit application (and I always quit everything else before running TS just to make sure), but sadly not...
