OK, can we agree that the look and feel is a lesser problem than a game that refuses to run? As for white hills at night---never been skiing have you?

Data's a lovely thing; trouble is it gets interpreted in so many ways. In that wonderful and conclusive poll 165 people expressed an opinion, I can't find a figure for just how many TS users there is but I'm sure 165 is a very tiny percentage of that number. However, given that it's all we have to work with we'll just have to do our best. That works out that approximately 55% were *against* TS2015, hardly a landslide even though it means a 10% spread...... and that's about it; no data exists to explain why the (small-ish) majority felt that way.

OK...back to the update....

The announcement uses the term "...within a few weeks" in relation to a Beta version, implying at least a fortnight until we see a downloadable patch. It'll probably come in only the one livery and have lousy sounds  but how many of us will be giving it a whirl?

I for one am just glad that DTG put their hands up to this one and withdrew the update, and I'm just looking forward to seeing how the forthcoming one fixes things.

btw Gary - sorry to be pedantic  , but it's "data are..", not "data is" (unless you're talking about the Star Trek android! :D ).

/ducks and runs for cover...

Yes it is a pity that this was not a random representative sample, because if it was you could apply the results of 55% "against" to the total population, but as it is - it is open to interpretation depending on which side of the fence you are sitting. I would estimate 40,000 subscribers worldwide not all active.

Ash :) unfortunately we do not use datum these days so by default data has become both singular and plural - this explains it well http://www.theguardian.com/news/datablo ... l-singular. So I support Gary on this one it can be either data is or data are.

No, you're not sorry at all...you love it just as much (if not more) as I do

It would be nice to know just what is being addressed in this forthcoming patch; and whether it's the first of a series to deal with the reported issues or they intend to put the whole lot to bed in one hit.

Media vs medium will doubtless be the next word definitions to be culled from the English language...

It's 15.5% of the people playing TS right now, and 8.7% of the maximum number playing today... :D  (Which implies that rather a lot of them don't have jobs!)

Yeah, but I suspect that there are more than 1064 people who've bought the game, and would possibly have an opinion

Or they are old and retired with nothing to do all day except play TS.

But don't the figures for 'number playing right now' and 'number playing today' only take into account those playing whilst logged in to Steam?

Once again it's all about how the data/datum/dataii ( ) is/are presented and interpreted.

I don't work or sleep just play 24 hrs a day, well according to Steam anyway as I am always logged in, shame Steam does not keep a record of how long we play rather than logged in

Was it RW2 where there was a 'launcher' program where you set options before running the game proper? Steam counted how long the launcher was left open... which quickly reached 'a lot'!
