Re: DTG producing the South London network
It might be a short route, but I plan to use some long turns that can take up to an hour for the SLL rush hour pack

On an unrelated note, Southern West Croydon to London Bridge trains, 4 or 8 carriages?
depends on time of day tbh the 455 are normally 4 cars the 377's normally 6/8 however now the new 10 car trains are in i have actually seen a 10 car train used on this
at peak times the 455 are 8 cars

Re: DTG producing the South London network
Same problem for me but I've uninstalled and reinstalled the route 3 times this evening with no joy and I have no AWS or track sounds. Hoping to avoid a verify cache but I think it might be the only solution. Anyone have any alternative suggestions?davep wrote: There is no AWS in the cab of the 456.
If you shut off power, then silence - no track sounds at all.
Even with power on, there are no track sounds.
Uninstalling via Steam, then re-installing to see if that cures anything.

That's a very fair assessment because it's true.dp123 wrote:Potted review time!
It's a really good route, well built and good looking. There are a lot of lines that open up a really wide variety of short scenarios. London Bridge is well modelled and even looks a little nostalgic given the transformation it's currently undergoing. Performance is good, but I think a lot of this is down to the fact it's quite sparse in the AI department. The 456 is a nice little train, looks good if you don't rivet count, but performance is off - the thing goes like a rocket off the mark.
AI is very sparse - you get the 375 out of Vic, and you encounter probably more 456 units than Southern probably had on the books due to the lack of a 377. Why, I've no idea, as the 375 is just a reskin of the L2B 377 to begin with. Get an AP scenario pack on this route and I think it'd be much, much more satisfying with accurate AI (377, 319, 465, 466, 455 etc). The 378 is keenly awaited, but it'll probably wait for a sale; remember you'll basically be using this between Clapham and Peckham, Crystal Palace/West Croydon and NXG - not a great deal of distance and not a great deal of stations.
The whole thing seems to fall a little short of it's potential, though. In it's original concept of an extension to L2B, this would have been absolutely top drawer. As a standalone route, it's a little frustrating. For all the network of routes, there is comparatively little in the way of full scenario potential outside of London Bridge to Victoria, inner or outer. You could do plenty of tiny bits of Thameslink with the 319, or tiny bits of LOROL with the upcoming 378, or tiny bits of Southeastern (there's so little of this route that the 375 almost seems superfluous). An extension to Charing Cross/Cannon St, Shortlands in the East, Lewisham and the Hayes branch, the Catford Loop and the inclusion of the Caterham and Tattenham Corner branches to the South would have blown this route wide open for relatively little investment in real estate. It is very easy to get carried away though - if Lewisham, why not Hither Green? If Hither Green why not to Dartford? Although to Hither Green would make freight a lot more attractive...I digress. I do think that a couple more natural "ends" to the route would have really helped.
In all, a lovely looking route, very well built with great attention to detail. Slightly let down by being more limited scenario wise than you'd think.

Rich

I suspect you have posted these comments on the wrong forum/media. You mention 'you' three times, UKTS didn't build the route as far as I am aware?tornados wrote:In my opinion you made a big mistake by not putting in waterloo station, you did victoria so why not waterloo not quite as real as it gets is it having clapham but no waterloo, arent you capable of building it ?.

tornados, why not take this as an opportunity to show them/us/whoever how it's done and extend the route to Waterloo, then release it via the workshop?

Made me smile, if only for the audacity to question someone's ability. Is it any wonder why interaction on this forum with creators of DLC is at an all time low?tornados wrote:In my opinion you made a big mistake by not putting in waterloo station, you did victoria so why not waterloo not quite as real as it gets is it having clapham but no waterloo, arent you capable of building it ?.
As for the route. I haven't bought it. It looks good but with my current financial restraints, I don't have a big enough interest in southern/3rd rail routes to warrant a purchase.
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it

some posts removed and thread locked for a while. Theres no need for the personal attacks. If you have comment to add in relation to the route, please make it. Do not attack anyone. Those involved will only be warned once, and then I shall just ban you...

I had left Steam running and noticed it was downloading something.
Went to look and it said 0 out of 0 bytes and the time kept climbing up and up....
I thought there was a glitch so stopped Steam and re-started it and although
the download screen was the same, this time I noticed that the little blue bar under
'auto updates enabled' was slowly moving, so I left it. When it had done, I started TS up
and all was okay.
Asus Z97-K. Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4 GHz. 3GB NVidia EVGA GTX780Ti. 16GB DDR3 RAM. Sound Blaster Z. Windows 10 64 bit.

Re: DTG producing the South London network
Hi All,
To those that have purchased this. I notice that on the Steam Store they clearly state that TS2015 is NOT required to play the South London Network, and that the download size is some 1.4Gb
So, does this install as a part of our existing TS2015 installations, or is it truly separate??
Cheers.

Hi All
Apologies for asking this question, but I am a little confused !
Its all well and good some kind person creating a scenario for the workshop that involves running over the SLN and the L2B routes, but how can this work ? Surely because they are two separate routes in STEAM you only load up ONE of the routes, so how can you drive onto another route that you havent loaded ?
Thanks
Derek

It will exist as part of your existing TS2015 installation.JustRight wrote:Hi All,

I think I might buy this one when I get home today. Normally I wait for sales but I think this route will truly come to life when it's stitched with the London to Brighton. Perhaps we'll finally have some networking on a par with WCML-North!

It may be referring to the new 'combined' route on the Workshop. See this post from the previous page:shinymac wrote:Hi All

Re: DTG producing the South London network
I presume you did not read the post a few above yours saying the merger had already been done and was on the workshop.tycoonkid9 wrote:I'm not buying this as of now. They forgot to add some London termini, as some mentioned, Waterloo, Cannon St, Charing Cross, and Blackfriars. Including a Southern Class 377/6 EMU and a SWT 456 skin sounds wise. I am sticking to L2B for Victoria to East Croydon workings for now...I would not be surprised if Otto merges this and L2B.
And there is no point to include the other London termini for a 10 min run to Blue Anchor Jn where the South Eastern Division splits from the South Central - a grand total of 3.5 miles from Charing Cross.
