The key is wireless router - (or router/modem) - your PC can still be linked by wire to that router via a network.
For the ipad to work wirelessly with your PC it needs to access a wireless source which can be via the router or a usb wifi dongle in your PC.

Thanks for the reply

So are you saying that both devices have to be communicating wirelessly. My point was that both my iPad and my PC are on the same network 194.168.0.0/24 (194.168.0.11 and 194.168.0.2 respectively) but the iPad is connected wirelessly to the hub via either a 2.4GHz or a 5GHz connection and the PC via a cable. They are on the same network from the IP point of view but not on the same side of the bridge I suppose. I will try a wireless dongle in the PC.

Sorry for the delay in replying but I missed your update

It seems that being on the same network means on the same Wireless network. I can't see why it can't communicate to any computer on the same IP network particularly as it auto detects the the wired machines but won't connect to them. Still a dongle was only £19.

Frank
If I understand you correctly:
For a wireless network your router/modem must have wireless capabilities.
If you do NOT have a wireless router/modem then the ipad will only connect to the pc that has the wifi dongle inserted.
What is your router /modem version and name?
I guess that you have read this: http://beatsurfing.net/connect-pc-wifi/ and http://www.logicinmind.com/en/support/i ... s-network/
Have you tried a wired connection between the ipad and the TS2015 PC?

Thanks pH. I was not aware of those links so I will give it a try but having both devices on the wireless (normal) network does work.

My router/switch is a Virgin Superhub 2 with four wired ports, a 2.4GHz and a 5GHz wireless network. All other devices work seamlessly between each other as they are all on the 194.168.0.0/24 network with the Router providing DHCP addresses.

I am new to the iPad having only had an iPhone in the past but I am pleased that I now have a solution.

Test running with the Airkeyboard tomorrow

I have just bought the App, and find it really good.
Is there a basic guide to editing and what some of the fuctions do and mean, I see they have a very basic help at their website.
I have found out most by trial and error.
What are the things like "sequence", what does that do and mean and how to load a background image etc.

Hi, I too bought the Air Keyboard app for ipad. There are 3 keyboard layouts for TS2015 in the library and guess what? - none of them work for me - no control whatsoever in TS2015! I can't even move the cursor. Apart from TS2015 the Air keypad works just fine in Windows, (I can use it in Word ) and the the IL2 Sturmovik keyboard layout works faultlessly with that game. What's the secret of getting it to control TS2015? I would appreciate any suggestions.

No problems here, once I downloaded the Windows Server file and started it running, put in the password, then started TS2015, I could control it from the iPad instantly.

Not much use to me, as I rarely actually play Ts2015, but interesting to see what can be done.

Thanks for the feedback Mike. It's reassuring that it works straight out of the box for you. Luckily I can use it with IL2.
