Ah no. You could always email Apple explaining that, see if they will be willing to refund?bri2808 wrote:Unfortunately I was not as clued up as Will and paid for it before realising it doesnt work on my iPhone only the iPad.

Yes ok dont rub it in!!
Got a full refund so not all bad but wow looked really good app too, but the other half is not keen on me taking over her ipad
Re: iPad controlling TS2015
For anyone interested I've published "TS2015 Advanced v.01" to the Air Keyboard library ... it's got pretty much everything there, main controls to the right, mini assignable buttons to the left pre-filled with some of the major functions from popular 3rd party DLC, users can of course change the layout as they wish, it was designed on an iPad mini retina, so not 100% how it scales on the iPad air ... it's a useful app for this task and others, I've not has major issues with it so far other than the auto-lock on the iPad powering off the screen (not good when you've an AWS to cancel after a long stretch !) ... anyway enjoy !

Re: iPad controlling TS2015
Also if you have a normal PC there is nothing to receive a wireless input from the Air Keyboard.tnleeuw01 wrote:Looks cool!
Two drawbacks however in my opinion, 1st you need the paid version so you cannot first try out how well it suits you.
2nd there doesn't appear to be a way to have actual handles that you pull up or down for steam reverser, regulator, brakes etc etc.
Quite understandable within the limits of a keyboard customizer and what TS201X can support, but still a pity!

Re: iPad controlling TS2015
If it communicates with the PC in the same way as an app for FSX that I've got on my Andoid tablet that's not a problem as the tablet talks wirelessly to my router and the router talks to the PC. So if your PC is connected to a router that has a wireless capability the fact that the PC might not have wireless itself doesn't matter.749006 wrote:Also if you have a normal PC there is nothing to receive a wireless input from the Air Keyboard.tnleeuw01 wrote:Looks cool!

Re: iPad controlling TS2015
And that is indeed how this app works, not with Bluetooth. There's a program that you need to install on your PC, and once installed, you can connect the app to your computer's IP address. As long as you have a wireless router, you can make the connection, regardless of how your PC is connected to the router (wired or wirelessly).AndyUK wrote:If it communicates with the PC in the same way as an app for FSX that I've got on my Andoid tablet that's not a problem as the tablet talks wirelessly to my router and the router talks to the PC. Step by step instructions are on the AirKeyboard website.
Re: iPad controlling TS2015
Hi Guys
Just got myself an iPad and thought I'd give this app a try but I am having trouble getting the Air Keyboard to connect to the PC as although it auto detects the PC when I connect it tells me it can't connect as it's got to be on the same network. My PC is on a wired network and my iPad on a 5GHz wireless network but they are all on the 194.168.0.0/24 network. Can anyone suggest a solution.
IPad is running IOS8.1
PC is running Windows 8.1 update

Re: iPad controlling TS2015
I have just uploaded a Key Pad which is specific to the Class 90. All the main driving features have been added which includes working Speedset!
The Desk/Key Pad was cloned and adapted to work with the Class 90, so full credit to the original author.
Once I get the full hang of design I will be producing a Key Pad specific to the Class 92.

Re: iPad controlling TS2015
Hi!
I'm new on this forum and have begun to work with a mobile controls for TS2014. It should work for Android and IOS, both mobile and tablet. Also Windows version for testing and setup for templates.
On the PC running a special program for communication with TS2014, the server uses "rail driver" API and keyboard mapping. Can send both key up and down (long bell / horn)
Plans to implement "mouse api" for pan / zoom.
The server (pc) uses http protocol for kommunikajon and can be easily used by other programs (need to document). In addition it has some features to use Arduino USB.
Finished with API functions to RailDriver.dll. Sending keyup / keydown to TS2014
Plans that there should be different user-defined templates for locomotives stored on your PC and transferred to the tablet / mobile.
Current version works with speedometer, speed, brake, gear and important button functions.
Sorry for my english

Re: iPad controlling TS2015
192.168.0.0 is not just a network address, but also the device identifier.FrankJ wrote:when I connect it tells me it can't connect as it's got to be on the same network. My PC is on a wired network and my iPad on a 5GHz wireless network but they are all on the 194.168.0.0/24 network
The /24 denotes a subnet mask of 0.0.0.255; the first 24 bits (first 3 octets or groups of 8 bits) being denoted as a zero. Wherever the subnet mask has a '0' the corresponding position in the IP address is part of the network identifier---192.168.0 in your case.
The last octet of the IP address is for the device, if both your PC and iPad have a 0 as the device identifier then you have a conflict and one of them just won't be able to connect.
Is your router set as a DHCP server, or have you manually set a fixed IP for them?

The key is wireless router - (or router/modem) - your PC can still be linked by wire to that router via a network.
For the ipad to work wirelessly with your PC it needs to access a wireless source which can be via the router or a usb wifi dongle in your PC.
