I have read that only about 9% of people of any game genre visit forums.
Intel i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad Core, Asus P8Z 68-V LE MB, Asus GTX 1060 Strix 6GB Gaming graphics card, Windows 10 Home 64 bit, 16gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 ram, Viewsonic VX2452mh LED 1080P HD Monitor. Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HD, Seagate Firecuda 2 TB HD,

Now, I haven't tried TS2015 yet - as a confirmed late-adopter at best, Luddite at worst, I've taken Steam offline and it will stay there most likely until the first round of TS2015 updates.
However, to add to the menu discussion I'm still not convinced that 2014 was better than 2013.
1. We lost the ability to sort scenarios by duration, difficulty or whether completed (I think that last was possible). It was really useful to be able to put all the short scenarios at the top of the list!
2. The 2014 menu system is sluggish - there is a very perceptible delay when accessing each 'level' of the menu structure, which I don't believe 2013 had.
3. The idea of filtering by loco is a good one, but for me the implementation was flawed by treating each livery as a separate loco. If I want to drive a Class 47, I don't particularly care whether it's in Intercity or two-tone green.
I'm not going to comment on 2015 for obvious reasons, but the 2014 menu system in my view was pretty poor also.

That's where the Metadata.bin files come in---you can lump all your class xx locos into one .bin file so in the menu it just displays as 'Class xx'ttjph wrote:3. There's a tutorial somewhere in here, I'll see if I can find it.

Sorting is back in 2015, and there's one less period of waiting for the menu animations now.ttjph wrote: 1. TS2015 is genuinely more fiddly than TS2014 was, but somehow I like it more than TS2014, because of the way things are set out. The only real thing I don't like is the long pause from the Main Menu to the "Drive" option. It just seems a lot slower than it used to be, or just seems to be this way, despite my having s 3.0GhZ machine, that performs quite satisfactorally.
Apart from that, I can't really see a lot of difference between TS2014 and TS2015. Perhaps I haven't really been anle to see a lot of diffferences, so far. ?

For me I like TS2015, it's really just a matter of giving it time to get used to and also if there are issues reporting them to DTG and allowing them time to fix them.

How quickly should I expect a response, I submitted an e-mail yesterday evening but did not even get an automated response to indicate my message was received.NeutronIC wrote:We're watching the feedback over various community forums and as long as the feedback is constructive, it's good to help us really see what people think about the product, whatever sector of the community they represent.
If you are having any problems at all with TS2015 then I would urge that you email our support desk at support@dovetailgames.com where someone is here to answer your questions and help you out. We always run 24 hour support from the moment we launch the update until the Monday following so that we can provide rapid response to help people who might have problems understanding the new version.
Thanks for all your feedback.

Er well obviously I accept 2015. Why? Well if things are going to move forward with sims, let 'em. How? Do the update.
Moving forward with my own stuff is just what I'm learning to accept. Seeing life moving forward in general reminds me to do so.

I certainly prefer TS2014. TS2015 causes stutter and has ugly clear horizons in most routes.
The UI is a mess. Unreadable and very complicated
! DTG what are you doing ? TS2014 was very good and with this we go many steps backwards!

Re: Poll: Do you prefer TS2014 or TS2015?
So encouraged by Matt's posts here I decided to go ahead and send my issues to DTG. However, nothing changed, maybe after a longer email exchange we could get somewhere, but at least the first reply I received was typical DTG-ish - as a reaction to my specific questions on the new menu system flaws and bright horizon problem I was advised to verify my game cache...
And no it was not an automatic answer.

Re: Poll: Do you prefer TS2014 or TS2015?
I have sent my issues to DTG. I hope they'll try to sort some of them.
For the moment I can't get any enjoyment from using TS15 , even after I have negotiated the menu.
Whilst the locos are sharper, the scenery has overall a less realistic look. I was most disapointed to find that the "distant white hills " are back . I thought we'd got rid of them in TS14 ! There are also some tunnel entrance decals missing in Settle to Carlisle for example.
I've just transferred my new ( sale ) DLC from TS15 to TS14 and I'm now enjoying using it again. I hope that new DLC will continue to be "back tranferrable" so that we can , if necessary, continue this way until the entirely new Railworks comes out next year.

It would be good if DTG offered a button to have either the 2014 or the 2015 UI.
Re: Poll: Do you prefer TS2014 or TS2015?
Like I said before, I prefer TS2014 but when I see that many people have the same problems, I think the a solution is to send all these remarks to support at dovetail. Perhaps, When they receive 1000 ,1500 Emails or more they 'll move and do something ...
