In the past I have reported stuff to DG and after the initial auto reply, heard nothing thereafter or seen the issue I was reporting subsequently attended to.

However, I have also seen the situation whereby after sending in a support ticket with supporting images attached, I have within 24 hours received an reply from, wait for it, a 'real person' 8) . In this mail they indicated that the issue (missing winter textures on the Paignton line) had been reported by other TS users and that a fix would be included in a forthcoming patch. This indeed did happen and the issue was patched.

I too find the support system hit and miss, but my latter experience to me shows why it is important people report stuff instead of just assuming nowt will get done.

Too early too tell it seems to run the same as 2014 but just need the route pictures fixed. And a ton of locos lol but half of that is my problem. I'm getting the hang of the new menus too.

...and I reported faulty speedometer in Class 77 more than two years ago, I received a reply that it would be fixed and it indeed... has never been fixed.

I also reported the BR 143 sound issues that appeared with TS2014 and I was advised to watch their FB page (!!!) to get the latest information on the patches they release. Lucky me I am not that stupid as I would be watching that FB page forever, later on I found that although vR had already provided the patch, RSC decided never to release it (for reasons unknown).

Most of my other emails were just replied with a generic text like "thank you very much for your message, we will pass your comments to the dev team". With no further action.

Writing emails, especially the ones with strong evidence take time. Hard to find any motivation to write them when the vast majority of your messages never get the right attention.

Is 'stupid' a needed qualification to watch the Facebook page?

The main problems is slow frame rates, if these were fixed to Ts2014 levels then I would definalty stick with TS2015, I like the new menu it is good that standard & Career scenarios are now separate as I never use career ones as they are dull and boring as only use default stock to that route

I don't like FB, that's true, but I never said anything against FB in my previous comment. I would be stupid because such info would never appear on their FB as they _never_ planned to release the patch. And they had to know it when they were replying to my email. If it was known to the particular helpdesk agent I couldn't say. However it is of course easier to get rid of a customer by suggesting they monitor FB page rather than contacting other RSC employees to see what's the real status of the patch release. That says a lot about the quality of their support.

Or I just said something grammatically incorrect again and you're just jerking my chain again? :)

Hi
I think that you should leave the poll open for much longer in order for members to reach a fair preference .
At the moment I haven't updated to TS 2015 I have only just got TS 2014 to run acceptable despite spending a great deal of money updating my PC.
So I am a little reluctant to try TS 2015.
What I would have liked to have seen was a greater effort to improve what we have already got and a choice to upgrade or not so we can still purchase further DLC for TS 2015 or TS 2014 without the base game automatically updating to TS 2015.
People who stay with TS 2014 will now have to rely on 3rd party material for new routes/scenario's etc.
Regards.
Pete.

That is not the case Pete, if people run a permanently offline copy of TS2014 and a seperate version of TS2015 or 2014 that they allow to access internet as and when necessary, they can then still purchase routes, DLC etc. from Steam with that version, which they could then transfer over to their working offline copy and run the content there. :D

Just goes to prove everyone hates change - a menu system is a menu system - I vote for the 2015 cause I like change - initially a bit difficult to find one's way around but exploration can be enjoyable. Reading another forum on how many dislike IOS 8.0 - have archives on how people disliked the 2014 interface over the previous... More concerned on the framerate and stutters - let me poke around and see what I can do about that....

2015- More powerful editing tools. If those weren't included then 2014 for sure as a number of other things have got worse (menus, fps etc).

We're watching the feedback over various community forums and as long as the feedback is constructive, it's good to help us really see what people think about the product, whatever sector of the community they represent.

If you are having any problems at all with TS2015 then I would urge that you email our support desk at support@dovetailgames.com where someone is here to answer your questions and help you out. We always run 24 hour support from the moment we launch the update until the Monday following so that we can provide rapid response to help people who might have problems understanding the new version.

Thanks for all your feedback.

Currently my vote is for 2014 - mainly because it was easier to find locos and scenarios.
When you select Scenarios > Standard and you have to look thru a lot more pages than in TS2014 including the silly swirling animation.

It's a shame that DTG could not release a Beta version of TS2015 to some of the members of this group to get their opinion of changes.

I am very suprised to see a DTG representative here. Thank you very much Matt for your presence. Currently I have three issues with TS2015 that trouble me:

1. Menus are slow and do not properly display 3rd part routes. I would like to know if it is deliberate or not and if not if there will be any correction.

2. Many routes have very bright blue horizons that look very ugly. The previous TS2014 representation was far more real to me (and many others too). Similar effect is seen on M-GP route when you don't use the dynamic clouds, distant mountains are far too bright and look very unnatural to me. I had no problem with how it looked in TS2014. Is this the way you want TS2015 to look like or can we expect any fix?

3. While using MSAA for anti-aliasing, I get rather strong micro stuttering. Other AA settings don't seem to be impacted.

If you are able to answer the questions here, great. I am also sending them to the DTG support email though.
