You need to duplicate the .bin file for the Class 37 plough and place it inside your Class 33 folder somewhere. Now edit the name inside the bin file to say Class 33 plough but you can keep all the file paths etc identical to the shape file.

Next you need to find the child object reference to the ploughs from the Class 37 within the bin file for a 37 that uses these ploughs. Copy this into your Class 33 bin file that you wish to have ploughs on but bear in mind you will need to alter the provider/product and file path of the plough bin file you duplicated earlier. Bear in mind you will need to tweak the height and distance position of the ploughs as the Class 33 is different dimensions to a Class 37.

I think that's everything but please bear in mind I'm typing this blind whilst at work with no PC access.

Aren't the class 37 ploughs modelled as a single unit, meaning that if you try applying them to a loco of a different length it won't fit properly?

56115, could you detail what you've done and what results you had?

No, they do fit...

As Matthew has said, copy the class 37s Plough.bin file into the ..\Assets\RSC\Class33Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class33\Dutch\Engine folder and amend the descriptive name in that .bin file to suit. Everything else in there is fine, it already points to the right location for the .GeoPcDx file. We can't simply copy the .Geo over too, as the game throws a wobbler if you have an *unauthorised* .Geo in the Engine folders of the newer stock.

I'd suggest you copy the existing ..\Assets\RSC\Class33Pack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class33\Dutch\Engine\Class33.bin file and rename this copy to Class33-wp.bin (or anything else that makes sense to you but still denotes it as being a version with ploughs)
Open this new file with RW Tools and edit the name fields at the top so it displays in game as being fitted with ploughs--I just added (Ploughs) after the existing text and then scroll down until you get to the <Children> tag. Directly under that insert this :

Code: Select all

The 6th value up of 0.8 is the one to tweak if you want the ploughs to sit further back or forward. Save the file and you should be done :o

Clear the game cache, or simply delete the ..\Assets\RSC\Class33Pack01\Blueprints.pak file to force the game to re-index the stock (I found it wouldn't display the ploughs until I did this, your machine may behave differently though)

Hope that helps, let us know how you get on.

Brilliant, thanks both for the detailed replies! Unfortunately i don't have enough time to try and get the ploughs sorted tonight but i'll have a go tomorrow.

Thanks again :)

The 37 ploughs are not the most accurate model, but they fit the best. I've tried other ploughs and none really fit the 33.

It's a shame they didn't come standard. There are screenshots of them with ploughs somewhere in the steam shop or RSC shop.

On the Steam page the EWS 33 has ploughs, seems like they were removed before the pack went on sale though.
