I'm seeing a lot of screenshots of the Baby Patriots appearing on Steam screenshots list now, the sale must be popular! :-)

Pleased to have it and it's good value at the sale price, but this was first released quite a few years ago and is showing its age now.

Thanks for the bump, I'd forgotten and had some reward points to burn. A good collection for £3.70 but now I've got even more Mk1s. I reiterate again just how much I wish the reskin blueprint worked right.

Sorry for bumping this, but I think, this really belongs here...

I purchased both Patriots during that sale and while the LMS Patriot works fine, I have run into various troubles trying to make BR Patriot work.
I am aware of this thread ( http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 0&t=138869 ), but I am posting this here, because I think, that this part of the board is visited more frequently (I found that thread only after thorough search of this site).

I was able to identify three groups of problems with BR Patriot so far:

1. Mark 1 coaches are not installing. This is because there is error in the installation script, when TS2013 version is chosen – when I forced BR Patriot to install itself in “Rail Simulator” mode, coaches appeared. So this one is solved – at least by workaround.
2. Other rolling stock is missing. Namely “45000(E) BR Green Weathered LMS Patriot Class”, the same goes also for “45001 etc.” loco. Also, there is “JT(C) MK1 Guard BR BC” missing in scenario “To the Bitter End” (quite fitting name, if you ask me, as you will see)
3. There is another problem with that particular scenario, as it reports missing markers in Bath Siding 15

Long story short – the installation package of BR Patriot is broken, plain and simple and needs to be rebuilt. I am not sure about nr. 3, as this may have something to do with changes done to the Bath – Templecombe route, but points 1 and 2 definitely require some attention of the developers.

I am in contact with JT support and I sent already my findings to them, I am posting them here, to give other the idea, that at least one of the problems can be solved – and also to ask others, if they encountered these problems as well.

Ok all my Patriot scenarios load ok except the Somerset Dorset route scenario, Bitter End, can't load the MK1 Guard BR BC wagon and the missing markers. There is a workaround for this to get the scenario working, not a fix, press the F2 key and click on yes to save progress in current scenario and it well work.

Yes, I know the "F2 trick"...
btw. "the plot thickens", so to speak - I searched my installation and I found both missing BR Patriots - but they are in the wrong directory (but otherwise present and accounted for).
So everything really points to a broken installer (and some missing dependencies)...

Did the F2 trick in scenario 'To the bitter end' and the scenario works indeed but there is no train in Bath siding 15 to couple onto. Does this have anything to do with the missing markers in this same siding?

Jos

edit: I swapped the missing Mk1 guard van for another, in this case an LMS blue one from the Coronation SCot :) , and guess what? The entire train is now sitting in Bath siding 15 and the 'missing markers' error is gone :o

Can somebody explain this to me?

Btw the missing 'JT(C) MK1 Guard BR BC' is nowhere to be found on my installation.

Cheers

Missing markers are usually an indication that rolling stock listed in an instruction has been changed. When you set up a 'couple to' instruction you can tell the sim what the vehicle ID numbers will be and where the instruction will be carried out. If the vehicles are changed in the sim but not in the instruction this error appears. You need to go into the scenario editor, find the appropriate instruction and change the numbers to suit.

All the 'F2 trick' does is to save the scenario without the missing rolling stock, so it should be no surprise that you find things are missing.

We probably need to wait for JT to sort this out, and upload the installer again.

I have emailed JT about the missing markers and guards wagon at Bath.

Keith, is it possible that one missing vehicle can make an entire consist disappear? (And reappear when swapped with another vehicle like I did)
I checked in the editor and found some errors. Four consist clashes but they appear to be harmless, and a duplicate vehicle ID number 'L5201' given to both the missing guard van in the consist at siding 15 and the 3rd coach of the departing 19:05 Bath to Bournemouth. Could this be a cause for the missing markers issue?

I can't say for sure but if that ID is used in one of the instructions it wouldn't surprise me at all. In fact, ISTR reading that duplicate IDs can be an issue.

Yes that ID is used in the coupling instruction for the player Patriot to couple to its train, and that is the train with the missing vehicle to make things worse. Let's see what JT will do about it.
