In FSX we have BOB. It's an external camera view (created by Orbx) that simulates walking. You can walk very slow or fast, even run and you can hear your foot steps.
I was wondering if there possibly is a similar mod available for TS2014 ?...
I know about the free camera ( key '8') but it moves quite fast, can't seem to make it going slow enough to simulate walking. I am looking for such a walking simulation to use in a video.
Thanks very much for any information.

As an extra to this question, some of the camera moves at the start of certain RSC career scenarios look nice and slow and smooth as walking around yards, stations, I don't even know what this facility is called, but I would love to know how to do them as well.

Re: 'walking' camera ?..
I believe BOB utilizes SimConnect, it's an API for FSX that Microsoft developed to allow external programs developed by 3rd parties like ORBX to manipulate the game. Unfortunately DTG never created any API's for TS so unless someone wants to spend ages writing an injector that does the job in a very messy and unstable fashion then you'll have to get DTG to develop it (which isn't very likely).Javiz wrote:In FSX we have BOB. However with the coming of the UE4 version of TS I'd say it'll be possible for anyone to write a walking camera, given the open functionality of UE (although DTG could intentionally lock out users from making core modifications for the game...).

Thanks, Kev ! Yes, if it wasn't for SimConnect FSX might not be where it is now. So i guess the current free camera will have to do for now but i will keep my hope up for a gentle stroll around the steam locomotive yard with the coming of TS2015.
@ John: yes, i see that too. Maybe normal free camera but the movement slowed down in the scenario coding ? ( just a wild guess..

You can do a walking pace camera with the free camera if you have a control pad that you can use to emulate the Xbox controller mode. I also believe there's a file somewhere that has camera info that contains maximum speeds etc for the camera itself, may be worth backing up then having a play to see if you can slow it down that way.Javiz wrote:Thanks, Kev ! Ok! I have such a thing (Logitech F310 Gamepad) but don't use it much. Never tried it with TS. Thanks for the idea, will do now !deltic009 wrote: You can do a walking pace camera with the free camera if you have a control pad that you can use to emulate the Xbox controller mode.
I found the camera stuff folder ( \Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorCore\Cameras\ looks promising at first but it seems that the one camera file that it's all about is missing... (FreeCamera). EditCamera might be something to tinker with, atleast it has Min- and MaxSpeed entries.I also believe there's a file somewhere that has camera info that contains maximum speeds etc for the camera itself, may be worth backing up then having a play to see if you can slow it down that way.
Will try, thanks very much for the tips, Matthew !
