Looks like a small conventional oven with a red hot element on top.

Yep, there you go. There's always one...

Personally, being well acquainted with the class in real life, and recently (i.e.a few weeks ago), I hear nothing deficient in the Hymek sounds provided by DTG whatsoever, but you're entitled to your opinion.

Never mind the sounds, I hope the pasty wasn't a re-cycled one....

For a DTG effort there doesnt seem an awful lot wrong with the Hymek sounds to my ears other than some recycled parts.. Then again the loco was only £2.

Is there a proper manual though . I cant for the life of me work out how you are supposed to use those light switches in the cab without them resetting I also seem to be missing instrument lights

Instrument lights middle long switch just behind the light switches. The manual is in the usual place Class35Manual. Alas it doesn't show the light switches or pie warmer, only the driving controls.

Whilst running the scenario, I spotted, quite by chance, a real hidden gem in the Hymek cab and I'm wondering how many people have found this? If you turn to the right from the driver's seat, you'll see a microwave oven, which can be turned on! But open the door and look inside, and you'll find a hot pasty! Just the thing for those long scenarios, and 10 out of ten for whomever dreamt this gem up at DTG! Nice one. Now where's the brown sauce? :)

Good Lord, is anyone still driving that?

Re Hymek, not actually tried it yes. I guess I ought to think of some scenarios to do for it for Woodhead. Believe it or no, Beyer Peacock were reputed to test them there before delivery to WR.

We had a microwave oven in the 1960s, it was HUGE, 6kW power and took 6 people to lift it, it was called Artica

very strange that people seem to like the sound of the DTG hymek, as it sounds like a muffled class 37 to me, which does not sound anything like D7076 at ELR, either D7076 has its own sound or my ears are very back, as I think this sound is on par with railsimulator class 47 and Deltic sounds which were just dreadfull

I don't know about testing but I think they might have gone under power on delivery - i've seen pictures of them (I think it was a pair) heading through Penistone Station
Ensignbus - I like 'em, the wife drives 'em
