I absolutely agree. A repainted Talent would be a great stand in for a Trans Regio Class 460 on the Koln-Koblenz route. :D

I changed the detail setting from "high" to "highest". No joy. Will battle it some more this weekend.

fsafranek wrote:Oh yea. Unzipped the "BR442Pack01Assets.ap" file with each individual install attempt although not all of the install instructions mentioned doing that. Even unzipped it and overwrote the default files with one of the repaints (yellow RegioJet version) rather than making it an alternate version. But even in that case I still had the default red DB version in the game when I went to load the loco which made no sense. And I cleared the cache in settings/tools before checking to see if it worked.

I read in the FAQ section of this forum that the unzipped files have priority over the AP file. So I haven't removed the default "BR442Pack01Assets.ap" file.
You don't need to remove the default "BR442Pack01Assets.ap" file as it would be reinstalled automatically by Steam.
Have a look at the the files you have extracted from ap.file and check they are not 'Read Only' - that might be the problem.

I had high hopes for that suggestion since the files in the extracted AP were showing as read-only. Even after changing their attribute and copying in the replacement files again, still no good.
The train components are listed in the train selection list on the left side flyout in scenario build but nothing shows when you select something and go to place it. Everything stock works, just not the repaints.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

Thought I'd post a note to those who offered suggestions to say that I figured it out and now have six BR 442 Talent 2 schemes to drive.

I had been extracting the files of the AP file to a subfolder. Once I figured out that I shouldn't do that I went into that folder and moved all the files up to the same level as the original AP file and it worked. I was then able to add in the repaints one at a time and they all work, including the custom passenger views (wall poster). I was thinking that it can't be as difficult as I was experiencing otherwise no one would bother with repaints. In any case I'm a happy camper again and I appreciate everyone's suggestions.

Hi,

While I could download and install the NEX talent reskin, I seem to inexplicably have problems downloading these two... Instead of downloading a RAR file, I just get an HTML file which opens to show me the download page again! Which again offers me the same HTML as download!

I would like to have at least the Abellio Talent2 reskin, because it's used in a couple of scenarios for Ha-Si v3 ...

Anyone who could help or point out what I'm doing wrong with these 2 downloads??

I don't think I'm supposed to have an account or anything, because the 3d reskin did work, and I don't see such condition mentioned anywhere.

Thanks,

Click the orange button that reads, "Herunterladen". That will start the download of the RAR format file. No need to login or anything, Hope this helps. 8)

It shows the same link in the browser as the file-name, which is where I am used to clicking... but indeed it works!

Thanks!

EDIT: Or rather... IT worked for the first file, but not for the 2nd file. As if I can download only 1 file within a certain time limit, and the 2nd file I try downloading will be redirected to an HTML instead for trying again later. :-(

Yeah, I managed to download it now, but not earlier. I think that they throttle downloads somehow, at least from not-logged-in users... That's what I suspect :-)

As the unit is in the GMG Sale for £5.99 - or less - I'm tempted to buy it but as I've hardly driven the BR423 or 424 it might just sit there and appear as AI.
Is it worth getting ?

Not sure.

No new skins for the BR423 or BR424 (or their S-Bahn 425 or Regionalbahn BR 426 cousins) but five out so far the the BR442. Actually a couple more and some mods if you really dig around.
Not sure what £5.99 is off the regular price but I waited for it at 50% off in a Steam sale. It's worth it. Some PZB issue to be sorted but I haven't encountered it yet.

This one is definitely worth getting. Great fun on all the German routes. And at half off it's a real bargain.
