Thank you!ightenhill wrote:The whole thing about the front end was with regard to 2015 I think not UE4.. This thread really needs splitting up as its talking about 2 different things
I was indeed purely speaking on TS2015, and not in any way about "TS-Unreal"

Nice effect, but like TS2014 smoke dissipates too quickly.

Unreal Cascade will allow you to change that property really easily. In fact I hope they keep support of these editors like Kismet and Cascade for devs with the next-gen TS. They're so powerful that if we could use them when creating content, there would be so many possibilities to create the most realistic experience possible.smarty2 wrote:Nice effect, but like TS2014 smoke dissipates too quickly.

As the video is titled "Unreal 4 game engine smoke test" it suggests that it's not the finished article--it could easily just be a test to see if smoke actually appears so it's a little premature to find 'faults'smarty2 wrote:Nice effect, but like TS2014 smoke dissipates too quickly.

Maybe, but RSC/DtG's record of failing to address problems in the beginning is well known, look at all the bugs that still remain from RS days for instance! If people don't make comments like mine then devs may think it's alright?gptech wrote:As the video is titled "Unreal 4 game engine smoke test" it suggests that it's not the finished article--it could easily just be a test to see if smoke actually appears so it's a little premature to find 'faults'smarty2 wrote:Nice effect, but like TS2014 smoke dissipates too quickly.

Re: DTG Announce new TS2015 features
I was on the verge of considering getting a new PC. But now I am not sure what to do. Hang on and stick with TS2014 as it is or wait to see if the Unreal engine runs any better than the current version of TS.
Would a beefier PC be better? If so what sort of specs are we looking at as looking at PC websites is a mine field of pretty graphics and loads of numbers that don't always mean very much to all of us.

Re: DTG Announce new TS2015 features
As nobody knows exactly what the new engine will bring nobody can say what you're going to need to run it. However, it's likely that the system requirements won't be that far away from what we need now---the whole idea is to get us all to move on to the new version so it would make no sense to make that transition problematical.
As the Unreal powered version is still a fair way off you should really be looking to get your machine running TS2014/15 nicely rather than worrying about an unknown.
What are your system specs?

At the moment its an AMD Athlon IIX45 Processor at 3.10gb
8GB Ram
Win OS 7 Pro 64bit
At the mo it handles TS but deffo sluggish at times. I still have a 9800 GTX and if required I could just replace that with something more up market.

Would that be an Atlon II X 645?TheTazman wrote:At the moment its an AMD Athlon IIX45 Processor at 3.10gb
If so, that's not too shabby--falls below an i5 so possibly on par with an i3-2100. The GPU though is probably your *weakest* link so that would be the component to upgrade first.

I know. I have Steam Engine sounds from SSS, but every time there is and update it reverts back to the funeral music.
