DTG to produce Liverpool - Manchester via Warrington Central

Re: DTG to produce Liverpool - Manchester via Warrington Central
I do hope there are going to capture some atmosphere, as both of these northern cities are very built up and have building around even the smaller stations, as a lot of DTG routes have small stations with nobody living around them, which makes you wonder why there is a station there at all. I have just downloaded Aberdeen Angus route and the last 5 miles into Dundee felt alive as it looked as though I was approaching a city which is a lot smaller then either Manchester or Liverpool. I Noticed that London to Peterborough was very lacking in that department.

(NB: I love Liverpool, there's an awful lot more to it than just a big river and 2 football teams)
Are you a bit of a scally there Mr G.

And I am shameless when it comes to my football knowledge, didn't know Everton was in Liverpool

In my youth I might have been 'a bit of a lad' though
I've spent a lot of time in Liverpool actually, both working and for pleasure so have a fondness for the place--and of course the people. Oddly enough my partner works at Edge Hill University, which despite the name has nothing to do with Liverpool, but lots of her colleagues are Liverpudlians.

I only found it by chance looking for scenarios, it runs from Dundee to Montrose, track is complete to Aberdeen but sceanery and signalling is not complete north of Montrose but the 30 miles to Montrose is very good

Thanks very much David.
It amazes me just how much is out 'there' for TS that, unless one finds it by chance,
(or in this case, a mention by someone else) that could go missing.
Is there a central 'register' of sites like the above I wonder.

There is now an update on the engine driver site with a couple of screenshots. Link-> http://www.engine-driver.com/article/sh ... manchester
However, it is slightly disappointing to see the RR158 making a return. DTG have made the following statement though:

AnthonyDespite our best efforts, we have as yet been unable to obtain the required licenses to recreate TransPennine or Northern Rail liveries... However, it is hoped that we will be able to offer Northern Rail and TransPennine stock in future

Looks like an excellent quality route, plenty of detail. Looking forward to thrashing a filthy 31 along it

Shame they couldn't get the license from Siemens and TPE for the 185s but thats their choice, also not surprised Northern don't want their livery licensed as their units(on the 'west side' at least) are quite worn down and need money spending on them, something Northern don't have and can't do... It does look a good route though...

Re: DTG to produce Liverpool - Manchester via Warrington Central
I was/am going to buy this route regardless of stock, having spent 15 years living in south Manchester. But one hopes that the 158 at least gets a mechanical overhaul, plus a new cabview.
Or could it be the 159 model reworked, as arnt the differences between the 158 & 9 minimal from an external model point of view?

Re: DTG to produce Liverpool - Manchester via Warrington Central
In the comments, they ask "It's a fair question, and one we'd like your feedback on: do people only want fully licensed liveries, or are unbranded liveries acceptable?".
I for one would be more than happy with unbranded liveries, as long as we get the correct traction for that route. Surely it would make more sense to do that, then allow third party reskinners to create the correct livery? Or am I missing something?

I thought DTG had quite a good working relationship with First. So does that extend only as far as FGW and not FTP?
Also, I could have sworn the Settle-Carlisle addon has a 158 in Northern Rail livery, maybe not company branded but the livery. Does the license extend only as far as S-C, so they can't just use the same 158 model?
