EDIT - I'll take the tram bit back, although it's got OHLE it's not been programmed as having wires, so electric stuff doesn't work...
Did someone mention the Croydon Tram?

A Metrolink version is now available via the link below, along with another item useful for the western end of the route:

Thank you to Richard Scott for allowing the reskin of his tram, and to DPS for facilitating this.

Look out for more 'useful' reskins aimed at the route in the coming days,

Regards,

Richard,

I'm having great dificulty getting the Metro trams and indeed the Croyden trams to show up in the game. I at first thought that I could not get the Metrolink trams to show because I did not have the Croyden installed , with it's special input mappers that go in the Kuju Railsimulator Core. However I have now installed the Croyden version as well , but still no joy. The trams are there in the game , but do not show up, just as though the Geopcdx files were missing ( but they are not). I have deleted blueprints/cache etc until I am blue in the face, but still no joy. Any ideas ?

I've tried all the usual tricks, even reinstalling steam itself (kept the apps folder). Now it doesn't even let me verify integrity - just sits there stalled. Something has obviously gone awry with TS2013 itself (even though it still plays fine) Anyone else experienced this? It's looking like a complete reinstall may be necessary but I really rather not do that.

Exactly what has happened to me too. In discussion with Steam - although it takes ages for them to respond. If you find a way around the problem will you post it please?

Unfortunately I've had to resort to a complete reinstall - all 15.5GB of it :( Something had gone wrong the railworks folder big time; I couldn't even uninstall it normally. I had put it down to some sort of disk error on the part of my computer but now that I hear that I wasn't the only one I daresay it was some sort of steam problem (when I saw the logo had changed a week ago I knew problems would start to appear - they always do). Probably acted in haste but I just don't have the patience to deal with online customer service. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hmm would you recommend waiting a little before buying this DLC, then ?

Or if you want to go back a few years you could use the Northern Spirit/TPE 158's

Actually there is nothing much wrong with Finchy's beta 185 , especially for AI traffic. More realistic than a renumbered 170 in my view.

There is also a 360 as a 185 lookalike here http://www.bluecode.org.uk/bhreskins/

You do need some imagination, for that, though, especially for the renumbered 170. :-?

You could just run the TPE 170 as a 170 - the numbers and livery would be correct.
They work in to Manchester Piccadilly so it's not too much of a stretch of the imagination for the 170 to work a Liverpool service.
In the days of Central Trains the 170's did work Norwich to Liverpool so they are passed.

Surely what we really need for Trans-pennine services is a class 124 and a Peak with a rake of early mark 2's!!

You could say the 170 is working in place of the diagrammed 185 due to one being out of service...

Some people still don't realise there are TWO routes between Liverpool and Manchester.
There is the Chat Moss line where Stephenson's Rocket did so well in the Rainhill trials and it was the Main Line from Liverpool to Manchester Victoria.
Class 124 DMU's, 45's, 47's and even 55's worked on the Liverpool - Leeds/Hull/Newcastle services.

And there is the line from Liverpool Central to Manchester Central via Warrington (Central of course,) built by the Cheshire Lines Committee.
DTG have modelled this line and in modern times it has seen Class 31, 47, 101, 108, 115, 142, 150, 156, 158, 170 & 185.

So a 124 DMU might be nice for the SIM but was never seen on this route having been withdrawn in 1984.
A 45 is being made but I think by the time the Liverpool - Newcastle services were re-routed over this line they had finished.

Thanks I was aware there were two lines but hadn't realised which was which I must admit! A 108 and 115 would be nice certainly.

The Trans-Pennine units had a booked working over the CLC line in the early 80's:
