Liverpool to Creed requires a serious bit of bridge building at Runcorn sadly, perhaps a Workshop extension south (or north) from Warrington on the WCML is the way to go?

There's some serious bridge at Castlefield too as you can see from the screenshots, why would that be an issue for DTG?

The approach to Lime Street will make it or break it for me.

Great news.

Cannot remember too much about the Liverpool end - but am very familiar with the Manchester end.

Crying out for a steam age version - and as for rolling stock will Messrs Craddock not be interested as it 'abuts' their M&SJ developments - does it not?

When I first saw the thread title thought this was going to be a steam era route, I'm sad now.

This looks fantastic, I'm glad someone's finally modelled a modern image manchester it should make for some interesting scenarios.

Hopefully this will bring about the long-awaited 185.

Although it may be pushing our luck a bit, it would be nice if someone could extend it up to Preston so give us more scenario scope with the WCMLoS & WCML North.

Well - the sample shots certainly show the ugliest building in Manchester - that 'Lego' tower thing - so I have to assume it's a 'today' version.

Let's see what they make of some of Manchester's grand old buildings.

Just seen a reference elsewhere as to whether they will 'include' the Metrolink.
I guess that is a certain NO NO - but I do remember that the MSTS Metrolink route had a small piece of the rail line where it runs alongside the tram route.

Can we at least hope they will manage that OK?

Oh and thinking about it - Can we please have some new buses to scatter about the scenery (relevant to the area) - at both ends of the route, and in the traffic spawner thingy.

Ah well - we can dream !!!

Looks very good so far, I am glad that there is soon going to be a route that features my home town of Manchester, maybe we might even get another one Manchester to Crewe/Stafford set in the 70/80`s with a class 304 which could be converted to a 305 for GEML, we can dream. At least there will soon be a route in the north west, I will buy this

Thank you Richard, I was indeed thinking of AC electrics around Lime Street as I'm sure RSC will include portals that lead off along the electrified sections so that we can add appropriate AI services to scenarios around Liverpool.

As someone stated above somewhere, getting the Lime Street approach right will be the make or break for this one.

Looking really good, been waiting a long long time to finally see Lime St on TS

Hopefully some talented soul(s) will extend this from South Parkway to Crewe via Runcorn in the workshop

If this route does near Lime street, very much looking forward to the climb towards Edge hill with 5043

Said with proverbial tongue in proverbial cheek Jimmy! Scenario possibilities are very limited on the core section of the route. There's no scheduled freight at all through Warrington Central.

You're quite right actually. I was getting a bit carried away with the thought of Lime Street and Piccadily without fully considering the quite dull bit inbetween!

Although that said, modern operations might be somewhat boring but I'm sure this is the stretch of line where I had my one and only ever class 40 encounter on mainline BR duty in the early 80's. I had relatives that lived somewhere in the Widnes/Warrington area and I was a 10 yr old lad visiting there from my then home in Scotland. Exploring around I found the railway and when I caught sight of the class 40 I was mesmerised. I'd only ever seen class 37's by my house next to the West Highland and my initial thought on spotting the class 40 was that it must be a 37. This was a time before Internet and mass media so a child's knowledge of railway operations were limited to what they experienced where they lived. I learned that day that 37's had a bigger, meaner brother!

Any charters been along there, only modern loco hauled scene otherwise for the area, but would certainly make use of the AP Waggonz 142
