Verify Cache / Files Question
Despite many attempts, I have been unable to get the AP 37/9s to appear within the sim.
All the files appear to be in the correct place, DLC requirements are present and correct, editor boxes ticked etc - but the locos don't show, either in the supplied AP scenarios, or if I try to set up my own scenarios...
I've tried the "clear cache" setting within TS2014, without success. Now decided to try to verify files.
Am I correct in thinking that this is within the Steam menu? I've had a look through the various settings, but can't find what I'm looking for.
Also, I gather that this will require me to re-install AP and SSS sound / enhancement packs, but that other 3rd party content (including my own route builds) wont be affected...?
TIA

Re: Verify Cache / Files Question
Whoa!
I would suggest there is no need yet to go for a full cache verify as that will go through your entire TS and no doubt take ages plus you'll have to reapply any 3rd party mods that you may have afterwards.
There is now an option on Steam for you to verify specific items of DLC, which in the case of the 37/9 I believe it is the Settle Carlisle route. Try the method detailed in the link below, this should avoid you having to do a full verify:
http://dpsimulation.blogspot.co.uk/2014 ... oting.html
But for me, whenever I have bother with stuff not appearing in the sim when all seems OK, it is usually for me a case of the sim cannot 'see' the .Geo file for some reason. When you attempt to place a 37/9 down the editor, are the couplings visible and/or do you get the audible 'clink' as you do so?
Hope this helps,

No - they don't even show up in the editor menu...But for me, whenever I have bother with stuff not appearing in the sim when all seems OK, it is usually for me a case of the sim cannot 'see' the .Geo file for some reason. Listed in the TS Utilities program, but seem to be "invisible" to the sim
Re: Verify Cache / Files Question
Just re-downloaded the S&C route, thanks to the advice from rfletcher72, posted above...
Still can't get the 37/9s to appear though.
On launching either of the AP scenarios I get a "Scenario failed to load"
For example on the AP37MP:1A10 06:04 Hereford - Paddington scenario, I get:
Consist Builder - Can't load rail vehicle - SC Class 37-904 Railfreight AP
Consist Builder - Can't load rail vehicle - SC Class 37-901 Railfreight AP
Broken Consists - Modified -
Checking my files, Railfreight-90x_AP folders are all there (90x being 901, 902, 903 & 904) in SC Rail Vehicles , as are the Trainload Metals versions and Transrail 901
Can you have "too many" sub folders?

Re: Verify Cache / Files Question
What's the full path to the .bin files of the locomotives? A folder name on it's own isn't enough as the game looks for files relative to the Assets folder and uses the path from there.

Re: Verify Cache / Files Question
It might be worth running the setup for the AP 37 Sound pack and then the setup for the Extra Stock downloaded from the same page.
You could check your E:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\SettleCarlisle\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class37\ folder as there should be sub folders for 901 to 904 in different liveries.

Re: Verify Cache / Files Question
Still totally puzzled by the non-appearance of these 37/9s...
Have removed & re-downloaded the S&C route
Have removed, re-downloaded and reinstalled the 37/9 pack and the extra stock pack (and the same for the base AP 37 pack)
Where do the scenario files live? (Just in case it's the scenarios that are corrupted)
On the B2E route the entire player consist fails to load - 37/9 plus Fastline tanks.
For the GWML scenario the coaching stock loads, but with no loco on the front of the consist

That's the loco's simulation file, not the file for the loco itselfrkk01 wrote:E:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\SettleCarlisle\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class37\Simulation\Class37 Engine Simulation.bin
Verifying the game will do absolutely nothing if the issue is with a non-Steam acquired file; use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the folder Peter has posted to make sure you have the sub-folders, then look inside one (just deal with a single one first, once that's sorted the others become a piece of cake) of those sub-folders to check if there's a folder named 'Engine'. If you've got one of those, look inside it and check for a file named 'Class37_red.bin' (or similar, the _red bit may have been edited)749006 wrote:check your E:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\SettleCarlisle\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class37\ folder as there should be sub folders for 901 to 904 in different liveries.
Re: Verify Cache / Files Question
Thanks - will give that a try.
I know that the 37/9 folders are there (one per loco / livery), but need to check the requisite files

Re: Verify Cache / Files Question
Yep - no Class37.bin file...
The geo is there, but no .bin
Comparing against my numerous other S&C 37s, the 37/9s also have no cabview folder

Re: Verify Cache / Files Question
I seem to be having the same problem, got the AP pack last night and can not find the 37/9s anywhere in game except for the scenario for the Bristol to Exeter route which fails as I don't have some of the other payware assets.
I'm going to try and fiddle around with RW Tools and see what happens (famous last words
