Oddly, I only realised that I hadn't got it when trying to save my amendments to the scenario in RW Tools, as it would not recognise the Manor tender on my system, for some reason. The scenario wouldn't save and gave an error message, as it couldn't find the relevant weather file, which is this one:

As instructed in the installation, you need this weather pattern for the Foggy Evening scenario. The Washford scenario's do not use this.
rabid wrote:Got it but can't get any of the scenarios working due to broken consists or stock missing (I know the wagons are required). Uninstalled for now but I'll keep an eye on his thread for updates.
Please note that older scenario's for the Workshop version of the WSR-ME will not load, due to necessary changes to track layout at one or two places. We will be addressing that for all SSS produced scenario's ASAP. However, as long as you've got everything required installed(see installation/splash screen), the new scenario's - [WSR 9351] A Foggy Evening and [WSR 9351] Washford Duty Parts 1 & 2 - will work with version 2 of the route.

Kind Regards

Backing the loco up and connecting to the coaches creates the greyed out coupling but I can de-couple from outside the loco via mouse control which then turns the coupling red on the HUD but it can couple and de-couple just fine on the version I have, abit odd.

I think the HUD's interaction is abit bodged to be honest :-?

Yes, I've just had an email back from Matt confirming exactly that. That the scenario should start with the Engine already uncoupled, which in my case it isn't. Very strange. Could there be a workaround this ?

Antony
You could have auto coupling enabled which is causing it, but a workaround tempory is to go into the editor and drag 9531 slightly forward(From ESC menu editor then click the train icon on the left side to enable rolling stock manipulation). You can select just 9531 by ctrl+shift plus left clicking the tender then loco this should make it so its a selected as a "mini" consist and be able to move it forward slightly from the coaches. This should allow for the scenario to start without it being uncoupled and as far as I am aware moving it shouldn't effect scenario timing or its job order as all your doing is moving it slightly forward.

Edit: I've just tested this and also coupled 9531 to the coaches in the editor and its uncoupling and coupling with 3D interaction but not the HUD interaction. It should be de-coupled on scenario start but if it is coupled then it sounds like auto-coupling is enabled in the settings.

Also using Camera key 8 is the best option for out side de-coupling.

I feel like a complete idiot !!!!! As you suggested I turned off auto coupling, restarted the scenario, low & behold I was able to move the engine forward without the coaches attached. Its still very strange as in all my years of using the Train Simulator I've always had auto coupling enabled and never struck this sort of problem before now. Oh well I suppose theirs always a first time. Thank you to everyone for your input as to solving it for me. Now to go about and play this scenario.

anthonye wrote: I realise this is an updated version by the readme. But why does the East Somerset Railway from UKTS have to be installed.
It says about the East Somerset.
"You will need the ECMLS, WSR, Doncaster Works & Isle of Wight routes from Steam to run this route, aswell as some freeware assets from UKTS "

This seems a lot of stuff to get the "West Somerset Members Edition v2" to be able to run, and I don't have Doncaster Works .

Anthony
The main reason for installing the ESR is because we reference a few assets from it. You do not need to be able to run the ESR itself. So we're not saying you also need the ECMLS and Doncaster Works. I don't own those either. Hope that's clear.

NOTE TO ALL: For anyone having trouble with the scenario, [WSR 9351] A Foggy Evening, it appears that having auto-coupling enabled is a problem. This is for anyone finding it impossible to uncouple from the stock, although, as the scenario was written, you shouldn't be coupled at the beginning anyway. My theory is that because the loco is so close to the carriages, it automatically couples to it as soon as the scenario begins, leaving you unable to uncouple again, due to a TS bug.

A quick question about the Foggy Evening scenario.....

I'm seeing the fog... however... Is it also supposed to be pitch black?

I ask because it sort of feels like something hasn't loaded...

I would understand if it was pitch black and all the station lighting (and environmental lighting etc) was on... but it's not... it's just black and i can barely see the loco controls in front of my face :-?
Why couldn't the steam loco sit down? - Because he had a tender behind.

Sorry to be a right pain in the bum, but I'm still confused.
I thought I had downloaded and installed the members version 2.1.
But 'Name My Route' says I have West Somerset Railway [00000041 0000 0000 0000 000000002014]
and West Somerset Railway Version 3 [206db8bb b801 426e a9ed dfb591e6d3a2].
Where's 2.1?
Asus Z97-K. Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4 GHz. 3GB NVidia EVGA GTX780Ti. 16GB DDR3 RAM. Sound Blaster Z. Windows 10 64 bit.
2x960GB SSDs, 3x2TB internal HDDs and 2x1TB & 1x2TB external HDDs.
Running TS @ 3840x2160 on a 4k TV.

Have you got the foggy weather pattern installed?

One thing I will say is that the time chosen for the scenario, and it being Autumn makes it rather dark, but adding the fog makes it pitch black.

Yes i have that installed Matt, thanks...

I also understand it is quite late in the day in Autumn... But it just feels weird... feels more like the middle of the night in Victorian England and Jack the Ripper is hiding in the shadows

more so because there's no lights anywhere!

I noticed, I'm still having some lofts missing, even though they are installed and upto date. Namely, Blue anchor and Washford station, and the deep embankments on the climb to Washford from Blue anchor. Though they are in place for the path at the beach at Blue anchor that runs along the track.

Thats odd. Anyone with the GCR would have those particular embankments installed.

This is because you installed v2 over the top of v1 (the Steam workshop version) - I did the same originally

To fix this, Find: "railworks\Content\Routes\32f055e1-35e6-4779-a0f0-ee761bfa8898" and delete everything inside, then re-run the v2 installer

I read that a bit earlier and came across a post on FB saying the same, just took Paddy's rocket for a run and noticed they are now correct, thanks for the advice!

Truely now this is a beautiful route and the little extra eye candy is a great experience. I may have to take a simpler engine over the route to enjoy the view more though haha

@firstborn

How black is it? Can you see the loco on the track outside the shed to the right of the player loco at the start of the scenario?

If it's totally black, it sounds like the weather pattern hasn't loaded properly. The times I've had a completely black experience, when usually all I can see is the smoke and that's it, is bacuse the weather pattern has been missing.

I'm feeling pretty dumb asking this question, but I just downloaded this route, and when I double click on the .msi file all it does is open a folder listing a load of files. The top one is an .exe. file but if I run that, it tells me there is a problem running it on a 64bit system.

I am totally lost. Where's my .rwp file???? And when I have seen .msi files before, they have behaved like .exe. files. What do I do here? No instructions came with it (and I would generally not need them!)

Clearly this is me because I've seen noone else asking this dumb question!

I'm quite pleased with this re-work, definatly brings the route more to life.

I do however have one gripe that is still there from the original WSR, and that is all the fences along the line are just plain offsets of the track. I think I may have to go into the editor and 'mess' some of these fences up deliberately/purposefully, and I may replace all the electric pylons with ones from ECML, which utilise the new loft tools.
Cheers, Robert :)

In response to your question "Where is this 'Name My Route' which you refer to?", I cannot honestly say where I got it from.
But I think (from just running it and noticing the menus) that it is German.

EDIT. I'm wrong - totally! RWInfo is the German one. But still don't know where 'NameMyRoute' came from.
