That's what's stopped me from buying it. An absolutely awful sound and I can't believe the sound department at RSC could listen to that and say "yep that's good enough for release".
I won't be buying any of these releases as the sound issues are not being addressed. All quiet over at AP towers also with no word as to any soundpacks in the making.

Odd that, I myself haven't seen the 'g-dink' noise mentioned anywhere else other than on here, so am I right in assuming that you too assumed the loco came with this feature incorporated?

The only way I found out that the 'g-dink' feature was included was by buying the DLC. And thereafter after deciding to replace the 'g-dink' feature with 'g-dunk', it took me all of a minute to do so.

My nose remains in situ to the obvious approval of the rest of my face.

I heard the g-dink on the videos posted on YouTube. I know the sound all too well from bitter experience. It plays on a constant loop and is insanity inducing in just a few minutes. On jointed track it's a nauseating g-dinkly dink dink that just goes on and on.

Would you care to share with us less techy types an idiots guide to replacing this sound?

Will the numbers show 27xxx or is it just 54xx?

Just the pre-1974 numbers at the moment Peter, to utilise the existing auto-numbering.
