Totam was fictional too and I was a decent route. I don't mind fictional routes if there well made.

It certainly looks an interesting network from what I can see in the manual.

This is definitely the sort of thing that I'd be more interested in than, say, the Settle & Carlisle line.

Why?

Because a straight-forward A-B route like the S&C is simply that - drive from one end to the other and back again. Done.

A network like this gives much more opportunity for varied drives.

Yes, it may be fictional, but I would say that it shows that network routes are certainly possible - what was the last real "network" from Dovetail?

For those who say "it's fictional and therefore a waste of time"; have you been to Beckonscot at any point in time - a wonderful model village that is entirely fictional; but well worth a visit just to admire the attention to detail. The same surely applies with railway simulations?

I will be getting this.
Yes it may be fictional but it still looks like it has plenty of potential and hours of enjoyable driving. Some great assets too.

To some of us, a few of the "old routes, WLOS for instance" could well be fictional. I will never see this great route as it was but it does not stop me from enjoying it every time I use it.

Totally agree with the statement about Settle line. Start off, fall a sleep, arrive at destination. I actually use the freeware Settle line by Jeff more than the one I bought.

I am now going to duck well down to avoid all the flak! :argue:

Correct,in the same way as Marsdonshire takes inspiration from a number of UK routes far and wide.

Cheers,
Mark

You can read about some of the background and ideas that inspired the developer to create Marsdonshire, on our website at http://www.justtrains.net/articles/about-marsdonshire

Looks good to me - I shall be making a purchase.

Just hope its not abandonded too much - what I mean is some scenario packs released at regular intervals could keep interest in it as a 'JT' route. I love Totham but wish there were more scenarios for it. As the route is a 'JT' one how about scenario packs for the route? Yes I need to make my own, and am sure someone will say 'well make some then (I am slowly learning without nuke-ing my install!) but there must be a market for reasonably priced packs for your 'exclusive' routes?

Totham has parts of the Southampton area but at the other end it's like Toton, Trent Jn and East Midlands Parkway.

And there are some good routes that are based roughly in an area but not a real route - Ferrovia sul confine Francia-Italia is one of them.
