Thanks Trevor - yes I have had a chance to try it now. Despite my adding a 0 to the 50m in discussion above (sorry!) I can confirm that if you only use "head out" view or the external view without zooming back 50 metres is perfectly adequate.JustRight wrote:Hi John,

I can confirm that applying my changes does make the AWS Bell and Horn audible from outside the Cab. Both the 'Outside' and 'Head Out' views seem to work OK. I have not as yet heard any instances of those sounds playing from passing AI trains.
So, it does work. The only caveat being the possibility of the AWS sounds being audible from passing AI trains, which as yet I have not encountered.
Give it a go, you may be pleasantly surprised.

And the good news is that the same mods will work with the now discontinued SSS Sound Pack so a simple patch of two files (if I or somebody wanted to distribute it) would suffice for both permutations. I have another obligation in the non-virtual world today (horrors!) but I shall look at my other needy steamers in due course. It will certainly stop me getting tripped up by the AWS for the speed restriction at Dunragit (on the Port Road) - that gets me every time!
