For someone whom I would admit has about 0.1% interest in railways 'stateside', I have to be honest and say this has caught my attention. It is a part of the USA, both in a rail sense and in terms of the nation as a whole, that I suspect we rarely get to see or hear about. I will keep and eye on this.
Imagine the spectacle of a Class 56 and 36 loaded HAA wagons running down the main street in your average UK mining community, if such a place still exists,

Not quite. The Monon was the Monon in Indiana. This was the Monongahela in Pennsylvania.
