UKTS Library - new coaches by CoasterRoaster

Post by chrisonline »

RoasterCoaster has just uploaded 12 coaches in BR blue/grey, all called Class XXX Barrier (where XXX is one of the various Class 220, Class 221, Class 43, etc).

I am clueless as to what these are for, and where they would be used. Could someone explain, please?

They are used(in real life) for delivering stock when the coupling methods are incompatible so a coach or wagon has the coupling of a loco(buffers, drawhook and train air pipes) at one end then the coupling of the unit it will haul at the other, as seen here https://www.flickr.com/photos/dwbphotos/4140966452/

The class 380/1 were transported to Scotland behind a class 92 using barrier wagons and coaches. A future scenario for wcmln and wcml over shap perhaps???

Excellent addition.

Add my big thank you Coaster Roaster to save me adding comment to each file.
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it ;-)

a-ha! Thank you! That's what living over the pond for a long time does for you :)

My knowledge-base has expanded :)
