Need a little help, please !

It's either this, here, or I may have to go to the Train-Sim.com site Forum for some "expert" help by those living over in the USA. Need to know if the Searchlight - type signals used in some scenarios are UP type signals, apparently. I'm not quite sure how to use the tall (2 head, 2 light ?)type ones before a passing siding, to have the lower light indicate a diversion to left or right, by showing an amber light on the bottom of the two lights on the post. Exactly which is this, amongst the selection on the left side of the screen ?

Thanks for any help offered on this matter ! Cheers.

Regards...

Hi Jim,
I use this type of signal in the same way that I use the default British semaphore signals.
The searchlight with the two lights directly one above the other, I place the No 1 link on the main line (top light) and the No 2 link on the left or right diverging route. There is another two light searchlight with the bottom light just off-set to the right, this is an 'approach' signal and works like the British 'distant' signal, and is placed before a two light searchlight to act as an advance warning.
Here is a site which describes how the American signals work: http://www.alkrug.vcn.com/rrfacts/signals/signals.htm
I found this site very interesting and helpful in understanding how the various USA railroads use their signals.
I use SSMDigital's signals, the original author has since passed them over to someone else to make available now though, so I would enquire about them on the trainsim site you mentioned as well.
regards Ted.
