The best freeware preserved railway available for TS2014 is the Norford Branch in my opinion. :)

Although, others such as the GCR and ESR are still very good!

And freeware mainline, I would probably still say Cresston tops it for me!

Hi,

My 3 favourites at present are Hamburg-Bremen,and Somerset&Dorset 1955, and the new Exeter-Barnstaple,really good and very realistic, the biggest problem I find is there are not many scenerio's made for the free download routes which is a shame.

Another one I like is ECML South 1970's which can be found in Steam Workshop, but again no scenerio's.

Hi,

Why is it when I go to down load a new free ware route sods law steps in,I can guarantee I will maybe have 2or3 of the dlc only to find there is always 1 that I haven't got.

I was going to get the Wycombe Branch and GNoS heaven knows why those 2 routes need the electrified Woodhead route, there is no overhead railway within a hundred miles of these 2 routes, especially in steam days.

My Partner would throw a wobbly if she new how much I spent in the last steam sale, probably nearly £150.00

Portsmouth direct line - do you have the original?

DPS has redone it on the workshop. Copy all your scenarios over and then clone them with RW Tools and they will show up. Then delete the old scenarios. This even works for career scenarios.

Nothing to do with electrification. The assets from Woodhead are quite good, plus, in the case of the Wycombe Branch, it was built by Bob who had a hand in building Woodhead so it's only natural he'd use the assets it familiar with.
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it ;-)

I've run nearly all UK and European freeware routes and all are good to very good.
If I had to pick one for scenery, amount of varied rolling stock and number of available scenarios it would be..
Ferrovia sul Confine Francia-Italia..
Available now on Railsim.de. Many scenarios on UKTS.
However be prepared to spend hours installing the various assets requirements, all freeware except for 2 Italian locos from Anemone Labs.

Are there any scenarios for it except for the QuickDrives?

Tim,

As far as I know, the workshop only lets you upload scenarios for 'final' routes which, as I understand, are those with 30 votes from subscribers. Therefore there don't seem to be any scenarios for GNoSR on the workshop.

However, I did include 4 standard and 3 free roam scenarios with the ukts upload of the full route which require some additional payware (B1, 4MT tank and gresley carriages).

Laneshaw Bridge, the BR 1980's version is one of my all time favourite routes. Riddled with atmosphere and just somehow feels very, very real despite it actually being a fictional route. Oozes 1980's grimy northern railway.
Fully featured also with super elevation, tunnel occlusion etc and packed full of detail, clutter and scenery.

I'd forgotten about the Laneshaw Bridge series, all 3 of them are well worth installing.
