Re: Class 92 on sale
Continental Routes for the Class 92. What would be the best Continental Routes to run the 92 on?
By day a retired D B Cargo Driver. By night a Desktop Jockey !!!!
Re: Class 92 on sale
Just to clarify.
The class 92 has been very modelled, it's excellent in fact and the Megafret wagons are a nice addition. Sound wise I think it's an improvement on the 91 as you can hear the traction motors a lot more clearly.
Features wise it's well stacked and for those that don't want the Driver Vigilance Device on you have the option to switch it off.
I would highly recommend it but it has one major, major flaw in that it will accelerate with the power handle in the off position if you have the speedset enabled. The purpose of this is to assist the driver in keeping the train at or below a desired speed when the power is on, not to take it up to that speed with the power off. Imagine all the SPAD incidents at best or collisions at worse if this were the case in real life?
So for that reason I can't recommend anybody to purchase it unless you're happy to not use that feature. If that issue is fixed then it would be to date their finest piece of UK traction.
It's a disappointment. Armstrong Powerhouse, Just Trains, Waggonz and Oovee have shown that highly prototypical traction can be produced yet RSC/DTG with all their resources consistently release UK content with bugs that rarely get fixed. They've proved they have the capability to produce such items as the vast majority of German content has features galore that works.

Re: Class 92 on sale
My theory on this is that RSC have grown too big for their own good. Once a company becomes large and successful then the senior managers and decisions makers invariably become more and more detached from the core of the business, the modellers, artists and technicians creating the products. This happens in all fields of work. Senior managers in all companies spend most of their days in meetings creating policies and schedules and deadlines for the production teams to meet. Detached from the product, they inevitably end up losing touch with the shopfloor and imposing targets on the production line that simply can't be met. The only way the production teams can meet the management set production targets is to cut corners on quality. It's the way of the world.37114 wrote:It's a disappointment. Compare this to AP for example where the senior management is in fact the same man who does the modelling, research, coding, artwork etc. That's why you get superior quality from AP. He's not striving to meet production targets imposed by someone detached from the production process. He understands completely and equally all aspects of his business in unison and will not sacrifice quality for production.

I suppose you could run the loco over one of the French routes available at http://www.railsim-fr.com/forum/index.p ... =downloadsyyyyamst wrote:Continental Routes for the Class 92. What would be the best Continental Routes to run the 92 on?
There was a picture of one of the locos at Paris not long after they were built.
I run the locos on routes where there is a bit more scenery

Does anyone know how this "Driver Vigilance disabled/enabled" is achieved ?Mr395008 wrote:Available now - http://store.steampowered.com/app/222607/
I'm pleased to see this - *Driver Vigilance can be disabled/Enabled by pressing CTRL+D however the sounds for the 92 aren't amazing. I'm pretty sure they've been recycled, the horn is the same horn from the 67?
Is it a line in the .bin file or the Geopcdx file ?
If so would it be possible to insert this info into the Class 91 and the Class 360 to allow their DVD to be disabled ( RSC/DTG have promised a fix for the 91, but I'm not holding my breath) ?
Or at the very least increase the delay time before emergency brake application from approx. 10 seconds to say 10 minutes . This would allow those who like the device to be on when in the cab to cancel it was they like to, but to allow others who like to be outside the cab to not have to remeber to press the cancel button every minute or so. Or could the DVD be made to activate the AWS button in the HUD ?

Re: Class 92 on sale
The locos don't work beyond Calais as they are not fitted with SNCF Signalling - although they could work over the High Speed Line to Lille Europe - at 87mph.USRailFan wrote:Calais-Lille-Paris, I guess Calais-Lille-Bruxelles, I don't think they operate on any other routes on the Continent?yyyyamst wrote:Continental Routes for the Class 92. Also they could not work on to Brussels as they are not fitted to work off the 3000v DC system used on the Belgium railways and therefore don't have Belgium Signalling Systems.
