Getting Rid of the Default Kuju Bus.
When you are playing a scenario and you are sat waiting for something to happen - another move to take place or departure time - you notice the road vehicles and the default bus stands out as being too big and having no doors.
So having noticed the Enviro 400 in Stagecoach and other colours
http://members.uktrainsim.com/filelib-i ... leid=26550
I thought It would be nice to try to use that instead.
In \Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\scenery\Vehicles are two files called OXFO_PADD_WP32_01.BIN and OXFO_PADD_WP32_01.GEOPCDX
I though if I copied the BIN and GEOPCDX files from the Enviro folder in to the Vehicles folder and renamed them it would replace the bus.
But now I have a BIG Bus shape with a Missing Texture overlay which has made things worse.
Is there a way I can replace the default Kuju oversized but with a better one?
Thanks
Peter

Aah that dreaded bus, it was driving me nuts, until I got a re-skin for it! Nice green now. But yes I would love to see a plethora of usable new road vehicles in the sim, the road vehicles are sooo boring imo.

Re: Getting Rid of the Default Kuju Bus.
You have copied the .bin and .GeoPcDx files correctly from the sounds of it, but you also need to copy the texture files for your replacement bus to the Kuju folder
Re: Getting Rid of the Default Kuju Bus.
I'm all for better road traffic, particularly buses, too! The ones that come with WLoS are more my thing. Would happily lose the very tired original Kuju one with those...

Train Simulator has the most frequent bus service in the UK judging by the number of buses you see in game!

Re: Getting Rid of the Default Kuju Bus.
You have the wrong vehicle - the one you need is OXFO_PADD_WP32_03.bin which is the red bus, 01.bin is the silver car. However, these are not the .bin files used in the traffic on the roads, these are the stationary models for use in car parks etc.
The .bin file for the bus is Oxfo_Padd_Vehicle06.bin which does call the OXFO_PADD_WP32_03.geopcdx file which in turn calls the texture OXFO_PADD_WP32_03.tgpcdx along with its day and night textures.
You might find that editing the .bin file to point to the bus .geopcdx you want to use is all that you need to do, I have not tried it.

The stationary models are what are used to create road traffic as far as I can see; however they are first compiled into a traffic controller blueprint, which is what the road section referencesmikesimpson wrote:You have the wrong vehicle - the one you need is OXFO_PADD_WP32_03.bin which is the red bus, 01.bin is the silver car. Re: Getting Rid of the Default Kuju Bus.
yes when I tried to to ONROAD the cars etc that I now have control of, It wasn't that easy foggy, I had add insides to the cars etc to get them to run on the road, else they would render all strange. There was cars driving on noses and upside down etc etc.
So I guess the answer is that yes you can use static stuff as long as its built right and renders ok.

Re: Getting Rid of the Default Kuju Bus.
If only vehicles could be added to roads in RWs as they could be in Trainz.
IIRC it was (don't know if it still is) simply a text file with a list of asset IDs. Simple and effective.

If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...
Re: Getting Rid of the Default Kuju Bus.
There was this road traffic mod some years ago' I tried it again recently but it's rather distorted now. It looked good back then

Thanks Mike.
I knew I was getting something wrong but I was not sure what - I will give it another try tonight.

well I guess that would be as bad as the motorways here in New Zealand..JohnM1945 wrote:Kiwi Pete wrote:-

Anyway back on topic.
If I remember rightly the "fenders" cars such as the holden and austin etc I had to double side all the polys to get them to render right on the road.
Luckly I had the models and permission. Shoud dig them out and release them. The static models are on here or tsnz I think.
