I'm just thankful that the re-skinning community gets to do what it does without any hassle ...

On the subject of the IC225 itself, it looks great, all the cab views are dealt with, sure there's tech in the cabs to cover all era's of operation but we can overlook that with creative licence ... I'm not purchasing yet, until I see what potential the set has going forward. I'd imagine AP might update their scenario packs, re-skinners will provide alternative liveries and why oh why DTG don't supply a decent clucth of scenanrios I do not know
but then the community can often do better there anyway
There's a difference between selling something for money, and making it available free of charge.

Read the reviews and now purchased the add on. The 91 has it's own very distinctive sound, for me that is the only downside. I think Simmers do sometimes expect far too much in terms of how far add ons can mimic
the real thing. No doubt we will see a patch or two to correct any issues that come to light. Personally I think this is
a good package and well worth the price.

Great report crumplezone. One thing though, does it have any form of speed control? Would be disapointed if not as RSC have included it in other trains (the electrostars and the loco that comes with North East Corridor) so it's not particularly advanced and it's a big feature of the 91s (more so than the electrostars where I doubt it's used much).
At least the Intercity livery will work with Newcastle to York modern and WCML-N, and it is a nice livery anyway. Just have to pretend the DFT decided to bring back the Intercity brand when they took over East Coast (IMHO it's better than their boring silver anyway).

Yes it does have cruise control.
I personally think that the sounds are a very close approximation. There's room for improvement yes but I won't condemn DTG for it.

RGSimulations have a 365 re-skin into NSE and there is also a class 317 in NSE which run alongside the 91 in Intercity livery
It is only Wednesday I was not expecting to see this until tomarrow as DLC in normally released on Thursday, I would normally call DTG for only one livery but I am going to be silent this time, as £11.99 is a good price as we are getting 91 and Mk4 + DVT for that I was expecting a higher price tag, I am sure there will be some 3rd party liveries and Armstrong magic to the sounds, I am off work tomarrow so can have a good play with it

Thanks for the review crumplezone.
I'm about to download, the model and cabs looks really nice and although it would of been too much to have expected from DTG to be scripted for advanced mode like the 90, at least it does have DVD, as this isn't always included in their models.
Hopefully the sounds can be taken care of by AP in the future, in the meantime if I don't like them I'll swap them for the 90+DVT set.
I do prefer the 225 set in IC livery anyway, suits it perfectly and by far the best livery it's been in (in my opinion anyway) but I don't mind it in the modern silver, so again, hopefully a 3rd party will release a reskin.

Reskinners don't charge money for what they provide. Why else do you think AP do separate branding packs for their locos? Common sense really.

Is there a way I can turn off the DSD? Or set an alerter to come up like on AP's Class 90? I keep going into emergency brakes because of it! I'm not keen on driving in the cab for the whole journey, which sounds odd I know.

As usual the sounds are limp and completely ruin the immersion. I was half hoping RSC would try to pull out the stops for the long awaited 91, but alas no.
Also, the foot-warmer doesn't work. My feet ARE STILL COLD.

Hi all.
I have been playing around with the files in the class 91 folder as I am trying to reposition the camera position so you can see in out the window when it rains. To my surprise the file was called 'Class90CabCamera'. I wonder if the file was copied over from the AP/Waggons class 90, or if it was from something else entirely.
It could also just be a typo, as some of the scenarios provided with the DLC have a fair bit of text with spelling mistakes.

Anyone notice it takes really really long to get from 115 to 125? I know acceleration is supposed to decrease, but surely not this much?

Does it also use the DTG FCC c321 ?
The IC livery is fine but if only the 365 & the 321 from DTG came in NSE colours ... then we'd have an era that matched, I know the AP c321 does feature NSE livery & reskinners have made a c365 NSE reskin but it's the finding & swapping out that's the minor issue ... DTG should release things that match to start with

Given that acceleration decreases logarithmically with increasing speed, do you have some figures to base a reasoned answer upon.
ie How long in seconds from standstill to 60mph ?
How long in seconds from standstill to 100mph ?
How long in seconds from 100mph to 115mph ?
How long in seconds from 100mph to 125mph ?
A simple rule of thumb for HSTs as an example
From standstill to 100mph takes x seconds
It takes another x seconds to reach 125mph
If you quote some figures from your findings, I will forward them to an East Coast driver friend of mine for his opinion on correctness and validity.
