Re: Riviera Line scenario editor
I'm having the same problem as tubemad - keep getting those messages.
Also keep getting those messages whenever I include the JT Class 153 in a scenario - odd!

Hi, as this route is mostly next to the sea, have you tried turning down water detail in options to see if that helps?

Re: Riviera Line scenario editor
I'm finding it to on occasion being quite unstable but suddenly being fine.
More annoying for me is it seems in some locations it is nigh on impossible to select stock once it has been placed. Exeter is by far the worst. Seemingly once a train has been placed all you are allowed to select is the level crossing control box and trying to anything else just causes stock to flash its yellow highlight colour on and off! Also happens at Paignton and Dawlish now and again.
Sometimes it seems DTG/RSC go out of their way to dump on content creators...

If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...

Re: Riviera Line scenario editor
It seems to me to be primarily related to the placing of stock. I can place a loco ok but add/couple some wagons and crash. I can add a pre-made consist but add driver and instructions and crash.
I've tried placing a marker in the middle of Newton Abbot racecourse and out to sea!!! but crash so it looks like it's screwed guys and it's going to need seriously fixing.
Oh and there are definately some issues in station areas as we all have discovered making any editing of marker, stock etc virtually impossible unless we need crossing properties or something!
Lets hope they get a message and have a look using the tools they supply for us!

Re: Riviera Line scenario editor
This sounds similar to the problems on GEML. Placing consists in Colchester depot causes a crash 9/10 times..

Re: Riviera Line scenario editor
By and large I've had the same problems trying to place stock and decided to contact DTG (RSC as we knew them) on Saturday. Today I have received the following reply which is an 'interim measure' whilst a member of the team looks into the problem further:
"Please try exiting the editor and then try to reload it and if this does not work please try playing a scenario and then pressing CTRL+E to enter the editor."
This may help but it's a permanent solution that's needed. If I hear more I'll let you all know!

Re: Riviera Line scenario editor
Curiously I have found the editor problems seem to be getting worse for me. I had previously created 2 scenarios starting at Exeter with (relatively) little problems but tonight I couldn't create anything without it crashing. However loading up one of my previous scenarios in Drive mode then going into the editor and placing a scenario editor and then editing that did seem to work. Anyone else found it getting worse?

Re: Riviera Line scenario editor
Thugsy,
Have you raised the issue with DTG(RSC)? The more people contact them the more likely they are to realise it's not just an isolated incident. I haven't given up hope of getting some help from them, (see my thread above) but it was last Saturday and I'm still waiting!

Re: Riviera Line scenario editor
I managed to create a basic scenario yesterday evening without much issue, but when I come to access it again this morning, I find I cannot get into it at all.
If I go directly in via the scenario editor, I get an immediate .dmp file crash. The scenario will run, so I have tried loading it up and pressing Ctrl + E to access the editor from there, but again I get a .dmp file crash
.
I have emailed support. I hope they resolve any issue soon,
Regards,

Re: Riviera Line scenario editor
With regard to the level crossing selection issue in scenarios. It may be worth while going into the bin files and changing the asset from 'pickable' to an un-selectable alternative. Or you could try changing the line that says 'valid in scenarios' to see if that helps.
I would try myself, but I'm at work today.
Chris.
P.s. I haven't had the editor crash on me yet, but perhaps it could be down to a common factor such as class 143 scripting or the night time lighting.

Re: Riviera Line scenario editor
Has there been an update to the route today does anyone know? I ask because I have tried to access my scenario again - I did get into it this time, but I still got the crash the minute I tried to change views (at Exeter). But what I noticed straightaway is that the AP lighting mods have been overwritten, hence my thinking about an update.

Re: Riviera Line scenario editor
I haven't got one yet. I've managed to just about use the editor with scenery off now, Exeter is still about iffy but placing the marker at Starcross means I can move about, so thank you for that tip!
Editing consists and turning them around at Exeter is just getting worst though, I spent something over 5 minutes just trying to click on each coach/powercar on the HST set (using CTRL+Left Click) and clicked on the orange arrow, and I might have missed it, nothing is selected now and First Class is still the wrong way round. I gave up in the end lol, not spending another 5 minutes trying again!
