Hi
I usually drive in daytime but just tried a couple of evening scenarios on the ECML-Peterborough route and they run extremely sluggishly. Tried it in free roam as well and still very slow. The same route in daylight hours is really smooth. I don't have this as an issue on any other route so just wondering if this is a general issue or maybe something to do with my set up? Any suggestions most welcome.

It happens to me too.
Probably because the station lighting is set to cast shadows is my guess.

There are no shadow lighting on ECML

Turning off the shadows in the settings improves this problem slightly, but by no means makes night running smooth on ECML as it is in the daytime.

Strangely I don't get this problem at all. The only difference I can think of compared to most other peoples' settings is that I have light flares off?

Re: ECML-Peterborough: Night time frame rates
I also experience this problem. Despite mucking about with various settings. As Richard has said, I also don't use Light Flares. However for me, nothing seems to improve this, and I have a monster system.
As an example, using Richards recent AP Scenario pack, AP37, the very first scenario sees you start just a short distance from a station, in the dark. If I begin the scenario and remain in the 'external' view, then the frame rates through the station remain quite good, 33-35 or so. However, I find that if I switch to the Cab View, then almost instantly the frame rate crashes to 14-15 and stays that way until I am beyond the station. Interestingly switching back to external view does not make the frame rate increase. As soon as you pass through a station the frame rate crashes, every time. But, if I maintain the external view and never enter the cab, then the frames rates are much better.
This must be something to do with the lighting around the stations, but i have no idea just what is going on.
I do have the AP Lighting Enhancement Pack installed, but this behavior of killing frame rates only seems to occur on ECML London to Peterborough, at night!. Very odd.
Cheers.

Try switching off shadows completely in the settings. I found night scenarios a misery until I did this, but now they are more than bearable. I'd love to find a proper solution for this issue which, as everyone says, only seems to affect ECML.JustRight wrote:I also experience this problem. Despite mucking about with various settings.
