Agree. Easy access for scenario editor to GCT.

I am a wee bit disappointed to have HHP8 instead of something like M8s, would need the HHP8 too though
I guess the NEC stock needs and upgrade and so does Acela to be compatble.

Found this :D

If you have look at the Engine Driver page you would see the M8 Emus are being made for this line.

Noticed that the pivot lamp in the lower head of the CPL signals (white signal but NOT lunar) is on when it is not supposed to be. It is only supposed to be illuminated by itself and not in line with green, amber, red or lunar signals as it is in this route (as per NORAC rules).
I tried swapping the scripts with the ones from the NEC but it did not work.

Also, selecting brake multiplier on the SD40 does not work.

Otherwise, fine route! :D

A very fine route - despite the great detail it runs very well on my pretty old rig. Quite a surprise.

Very interesting route to make scenarios for. NH-GCT non-stop may take 2 hours, but can be way-pointed to about 90 minutes.
Setting train type to express does not select a through track, the dispatches seems to go for shortest path.

I wonder how real is this route. Is it possible that such an important main route (NEC) is limited to 70 mph and crippled with constant speed limits of 45mph.
How come there are no track side signs of speed change. Although graphics are excellent, there is something "fishy" in the feeling I got when driving.
Maybe I'm used to German excellent routes like Hamburg-Hannover.
Finally, why such a ultra modern locomotive as Amtrak Siemens ACS-64 doesn't have any means of automatic speed control.

i was thinking that myself. the speed limit on the hud is showing as 75mph say but it will only let me do 45mph otherwise that system kicks in in and applys the emergency brakes. there was no reason for me been limited to 45mph or having caution signals as there was nothing in front of me for miles. Also where are the speed limits on the track side infrastructure.

Apart from these annoying little things i really enjoy the route

Are you looking at the in cab signalling display (manual page 10)? That may be showing a lower Maximum Authorised Speed than the track speed limit shown in the HUD.

I think the developers of this route forgot to put a necessery milepost and speed order panels. Forget the HUD. In reality, the driver has Working Time Table (paper or electronic) with all required data like speed limits, temporary speed restrictions, percentage of braking and schedule. He needs the trackside signs to assits him. But here, they are completely missing.
How come ????
What about the reality. We are paying good money for this product and expecting for some level of fidelity.

Are you sure lineside speed signs exist on the real world route, or are you just assuming they do?

Andy. You know as well as I do that it's far more straigtforward to completely re-write the signalling scripting as protoypically as possible than it would have been to shove in a couple of imaginary signs....

I was assuming (based on German and Polish routes). I took a look on few YouTube NEC cab ride videos and found that there are no sidetrack signts whatsoever. I'm really sorry for posting some misleading information.

The route looks ok so far . A big improvement on the NEC with it's floating cars !!

One big dissapointment is that the ACS-64 does not seem to have speed ( cruise ) control , but the HHP-8 and AEM-7 do ? Very strange surely the real ACS-64 does have this feature ?
Still with the low speed limit ( 70 ) and constant speed reductions, perhaps it does not need it ?.

Also does anyone know whether these AMfleet coach trains hauled by either ACS-64, HHP-8 or AEM-7 are ever operated push/pull and if so is there a cab car similar to the metroliner ones ?
