Whats with the vertical stripes? The UKTS one looks better, hopefully the WiP will improve more from this (besides 2-car SWTs are normally 158s...)

I do like how people always get incredulous that mistakes filter through, as if the entire staff base should be die hard enthusiasts rather than talented programmers/3d modellers. I was asked to take photographs for Bachmann when they were doing their CrossCountry Class 170s and the N gauge one was earmarked to be 170301 - never been anywhere near the Midlands (with the exception of it's birth)! These things happen but if pointed out by an obvious majority then corrections can be made.

That's a reasonable point. But I'd also expect that any business would have some form review (QA, PR, etc) between the "doer" and public release of the info...

I need to check Facebook and look at the WIP myself. Stabbing in the dark feebly, is this a 158 or a 159? There are differences as has been discussed. Again, I watch with interest. I have faith that DTG will not release a Class 158 and badge it as a Class 159...

If it's a 158 in disguise, I would expect the price to reflect that. And no, I do not know what a fair price will be. I will wait, see and then decide... Personally, I would prefer something more... old... blue and greyish in colour. 8)
That .geopdx file is not a code used by the Rebel Alliance...

I fail to see how this cannot happen. The only outside difference I personally can see between the two classes is the lack of a toilet in the MSO on a 159 (of course we haven't seen the centre coach yet in a 159 sense).

And the first class section. And the extra hopper windows.

It doesn't matter if the 3D modellers and staff are not die hard rail enthusiasts. All they need to do is take a trip to Waterloo or Salisbury and take a look at the real things. There is absolutely no excuse for not researching the correct details for the model. you can even Google for pictures of the real things and there are plenty of books out there. Its not as if there an no prototypes out there. So come on DTG. Stop the guesswork and short cuts of re-skinning of a "similar" model.

Thank you Dave I stand corrected, the extra hoppers are another difference.

I was going to mention the 1st class section myself, but when thinking about it, do any of the current 158 DLC variations that should have this section portrayed have it, either internally or externally? I know they are all labelled DMSL/MSL in game. If the 159 however it manifests itself does not have 1st class, then that will be a shame though not the end of the world. Indeed, if the 159 is the 'S&C' model as I suspect, external 1st class branding (stripe and numeric) will be an issue as the texture on this is mirrored (I don't think the 159's have the stripe in anycase).

All in all, the 159 will be at the very least a repaint of the 158, so I myself am not going to see it as anything other, that way I will not get over excited.

Regards,

Richard

I'd be happy enough if it was released with decent sounds, seven throttle notches and a three step brake.

Is it just me or has the screenshot of the "159" been taken down?

Perhaps that's what they meant when they said they would "investigate and get back to us".
