My problem is that the route is not showing in the game or even on RWtools.
If there is another thread then I would be obliged. Many thanks

I have the assets in the RSC folder and the manual.
The route should be listed as 00000042-0000-0000-0000-000000002014 in the Railworks/contents/routes folder, and should appear in the game routes menu as 'Riviera line' (not The Riviera line).

It won't appear in RW Tools as downloaded, because the main content of the route is an .ap file.
To get it to appear in RW Tools, locate the main content.ap file in the routes folder listed above, and use a programme such as 7 zip to extract the ap files to the same folder. RW Tools will then show the route and scenarios.

For that the route be detected by RW_Tools is not necessary to extract all files. You only need to extract the "RouteProperties.xml" file.

It seems to me that the author(s) ran out of time, after working for too long on the iconic sea-wall section and getting the sea to ebb and flow, forcing a rush to get it into a releasable state for the deadline. Too many of the line-side houses are boxes with the details simply painted on, like Hornby tin-plate buildings for their O-gauge models back in the 1950s and there are too many duplicates just dobbed onto the scenery any old how. The further west you go, the worse it gets. It needed several more weeks of work on the scenery, IMO.

The package is probably just about worth the money, having the Class 143 included and the ever-present HST. The 143 isn't a bad piece of work and with the AP 142 sounds applied it is a pleasure to drive (if not to ride in!) Out of ten? A six. Just.

Several weeks ago (maybe longer) RSC announced on their Engine Driver blog that they had set up a new team that were going to revisit products and spruce them up. One of the things they mentioned was adding 'Teignmouth Spey' to this route (the island site with the big stone mural half way along the Teignmouth wall section). The omission of this iconic piece of scenery ruined the route for me and I still wince in pain when I drive past the empty space where it should be.

Sadly since RSC announced this new team, we've not heard a peep since and I'm starting to realise it could be a very long time before we see any improvements, if at all. We'll be knocking on the door of TS2015 soon and I imagine that will take precedent over revisiting past items of DLC. I'd like to believe that RSC have turned a new corner and recognised that achieving excellence in their products and fixing shortcomings is essential if they are to maintain their DLC-based business strategy but I'm a hundred times bitten forever shy now. Most people these days are far more cautious when purchasing DLC as a result of being stung far too many times in the past. If it weren't for the likes of Armstrong Powerhouse 'rescuing' most RSC products then I'd have probably given up on this sim long ago and gone back to flight sims.

I see your Rw-Tools question has been answered.... but i thought it was worth pointing out, that the only scenarios are Tutorials & Career, so it won't appear under the standard menu - have you tired looking under quick drive also?
Why couldn't the steam loco sit down? - Because he had a tender behind.

I'm experiencing some difficulties purchasing this route today.

I tried the Greenman site, but when I tried to apply the additional 10% discount code it returned "unable to apply ..." etc,etc

Others previously seem to have achieved success with this - perhaps the extra discount has been disallowed for Railworks DLC?

Then I tried to apply the voucher code in the Newsletter ............... clicked "Add a Game" and followed the activation procedure/entered the code until I eventually got a green 50% discount coupon on screen. But when I attempted to then purchase the route I got to the final Paypal payment screen with the full price still displayed ie the coupon reduction had not been applied. Is this something to do with an invalid 1970 date??

Would appreciate any guidance colleagues could provide to help me obtain this DLC

Thanks very much

Pretty sure the steam voucher code doesn't work because of the '1970' date.

If you want to buy the route from GMG, you can get another 20% off by using this code:

Code: Select all

O3H7FE-D4NFO0-F0LIGK
(Worked for me just now) :D

This code was sent to me in an email and worked for me too, also had 10p Greenman credit  so got it for £5.90
Be aware that the code wont show as a reduction until you go on to the next page after you apply it, also you cant use the 10% off code at the same time

I have absolutely no trace of The Riviera: Exeter-Paignton route -- in my Routes folder, Quick drive, scenario lists, even though I've twice tried putting in the code supplied by GMG. It does show in my Library list, though. Will I need to do a verify cache or is there something quicker and easier I can do, please? BTW neither this nor Donner Pass show in my RWTools.

Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Groundhog

Thanks very much for sorting this out for me. I have now successfully downloaded the route (and even made a further saving!)

Reading the Railworks Facebook page earlier today, it seems I'm not alone in facing the 1970 coupon error problem.

However, being on this forum has enabled me to access a solution - for which I am grateful.

Thanks again

Hi Richard - did you resolve this? Have just run a Quick Drive in winter and experienced (presumably) the same missing textures on the footbridge and canopy rooves at Exeter SD

Hello Steve,

Unfortunately not, I am still seeing these as below:

Since my original post, I have done a verify and the problem still persists. I will contact support again and attach the screenshot,
