putting a container in a well car

Hi I modeled my own wellcar. the well car works in the game until it time to have it with a container inside the well. in the scenario editor I click the loaded/unloaded box and no containers appear. In the blueprint I have a cargodef blueprint for where the container goes and its located in the center of the well. also I referenced to a container I want inside. that container has a scenery blueprint with a collision box. the container shows up as a clutter item n the game but like I said it wont sit in the well when I tick the load/unload box.

Am I missing something. I thought it was pretty str8 forward.

Check carefully that the location referenced in the wagons.bin for the containers .GeoPcdx file is correct, if that's wrong the game can't find it and just ignores it, hence the empty wagon---could be something as simple as a - in the path instead of a _ (been there, done that...... :oops: spent hours blaming all and sundry instead of the clumsy old fingers and eyes as I'd deleted a \ in the path)

Heres a pic of the problem. the containers for all the wellcars show up in 1 spot. and that's in my locomotive instead of the well cars.

the correct path is the "scenery\railnetwork\interactive\Maersk_single" path. I fixed the disparity with paths but that alone did not fix the issue. same issue going on still.

OK, and this is only from seeing how other container wagons work:---

the wagon's .bin file calls for the container's .bin file which in turn calls for the shape file for the container. Usually the container's .bin and .GeoPcDx files live in the same directory so by that reasoning as the container.bin looks for the .Geo in
"EYEIN12\SEATTLE-PORTLAND\railnetwork\interactive\Maersk_single"
I assumed the .bin file would be there too.
However, the location for the container.bin that is referenced in the wagon.bin is
"EYEIN12\SEATTLE-PORTLAND\scenery\railnetwork\interactive\Maersk_single"
so if the container wasn't in that location then the game wouldn't be able to find it and nothing would be displayed.

Hi thanks for the tip but that didn't help. I removed the mass line and the name line but that shouldn't matter since this is a new feature for ts 2014 blueprint editor.

Everything is referenced properly. I even alias to a default container and they don't show up either.

Everything lines up. but the containers end up still being inside the loco at the front or just not showing up at all if there is no loco.

When you export the container model from your 3D programme is it's centre at the centre of the working area at 0,0?
If you're exporting it and it's offset from the centre I can see that transferring to when it locates itself on the well car.

The cargodef spot looks ok.

On the container itself: Is the centre of the container set at the centre of the 3D modelling area? It looks like it is in the picture - where the black lines cross? - but I'm not familiar with the software you're using there.
Also is the origin point of the container object itself set at the centre of the model of the container - again apologies if the syntax is a little off here, but hopefully you understand what I mean.

The model is sitting just above the axis cross hairs(the two black lines intersect just below the center of the object). Origin point is centered as well...ie the green blue and red crosshairs

this is the actual location in the absolute world in 3ds max 2014:

x=0
y=0
z=1.43m

is that correct? usually for a scenery object this is the best spot. but maybe it needs to be different for a cargo def object?
