You're half way there than Andy; basically it's the same procedure just on the other side of the country and a bit more southerly.

I came to this route late but having just completed a Newcastle - Edinburgh run in a HST with newly acquired AP MTU pack what can I say? Brilliant! The amount of effort that must have gone in to building it must have been phenomenal. Well done to all concerned. (And without the AP packs I would probably spend only a tenth of the time on TS that I still do.)

Did you use the JT HST or the DTG one as someone has mentioned that the JT one doesn't use the AP soundpacks.

I used RW Tools to change the Voyager for a JT HST Class 43 (NXEC Grey) and used then used the same software to change the sounds. Then into the editor to change the XC coaches for NXEC and add extra NXEC ones. Mildly time-consuming but definitely worth it.

Mark,

I've just bought this route in the sale and must say that so far it looks pretty good. Is there a fix for the Newcastle buffers 'bug' in the pipeline?

Andy L
I've just had an email from JT informing me that the fixed version is now out. Re-download from your JustTrains account.

A chap on another forum has posted a picture of the new version - with a set of buffers in the track just outside Newcastle going north

That's where they were in the previous (v105) version. As you can see they're not there in the latest version I downloaded earlier (v106).

Andy L

P.S. My screenshot was with the 3D track, I've just checked using the 2D track option and the buffers are still there in that case. Time to resurrect my own fix!

Yes, still there with 2d track, although my train in Quick Drive was happy to plough straight through them!

Changing the tracks midway has turned out to be a bit of a problem for JT hasn't it? Just out of interest, who's using 3D and who's using 2D? -- it could be useful to get some idea of numbers here.
Other than fixing (sort of) the errant buffers, what else has been changed?

I can't use the 3-D track on my main system, which has a GTX-970 video card, because I get very bad Moiré fringing effects that give me a headache.

with Newcastle to Edinburgh v1.06, I confirm that the buffers are still with 2D track option.

Not sure about this track update on my system, seems the textures in either 3d or 2d load over a short distance (3d being worse), a bit like what you see on a graphic equaliser? Oddly enough the loops are fine! I am going to see if I can manage to kybosh the route with a swap to the trent valley track? :-?

Makes it undriveable for me, yards are fine http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =606075972 Also at half nine at night the sky turns a very strange kind of blue and distant objects like hills etc are a greyish blue! Seem that every update breaks something. :-?
