Just installed the latest version 1.05 and now have buffers across the down main line immediately on leaving the platform in Newcastle - not there in 1.04.

Anyone else?

it looks like the JT model merely references the default sounds so in theory it should sound exactly like the Kuju variant.
That begs the question, "does your Kuju HST have the Valenta sounds applied?"

Just out of interest, does anybody have a list of which sounds would be most appropriate/prototypical to which HST livery/date period?
OK.....................apologies are in order for wasting the valuable time of forum members, particularly you Gary......So, errrr sorry

Some time ago, I partitioned my drive and added another instance of TS, which is now the one I use offline, I was under the impression that I had installed all of my third party add-ons including all AP soundpacks, however guess which one I missed? I don't drive the HST with any great frequency as I am a loco man, otherwise I may have noticed that the default version was lacking the Valenta soundtrack. So the JT version does reference the AP sound pack, providing of course it is actually installed. :-?

Rest assured this won't happen again, as I now have a dummy mods folder that I can drop into my RW folder, which will save the hassle of installing each sound pack individually, and hopefully prevent this fool from making the same mistake again.

Thanks all for your help, once again!

Time spent investigating problems/issues is never wasted time Andy, less so when an answer is found :)
Rest assured that whilst "this fool" won't make the *mistake* again, we have a never-ending supply of *fools* to do something similar---no matter how good you are, or think you are, around the game missing a folder/file off when organising your collection is something we're all more than capable of!!

I see reading back a few pages that others were mentioning about reverb/echo sounds carrying on for ages after going under bridges/through tunnels, not all bridges have the reverb/echo I noticed but the ones that do the sound carry's on for a while after it starts on my install of this route (only ever had v105 installed as only purchased it yesterday).

I'm guessing others probably mentioned this bug to JT but I'll do the same just to see if there's any solution.

I thought I would have another go tonight but gave up because of the echo problem, strange though I tried another route (Rugby to Stafford, with the same consist) and the echo was still present, had to close down and start again to get rid of echo.

I notice this route is 50% off to those that get the subscriber email until November 22.
What is the general consensus on this route? As good as SECML? etc...

Thanks for advise in advance

Nick

PS. I know someone must have already answered my questions in this thread, but there are so many pages I don't have the time to read all!

I'm seeing this too (just got the route so didn't have the earlier version) was there a fix for it?

Looks like those pesky Gremlins have crept in,if version 1.04 didn't have a problem, with buffer stops, either that or someone has read Dr Beaching's report, which was to close the East Coast Mainline north of Newcastle and implemented it.

Yes, but do bear in mind they can only fix it if their copies of the route are similarly afflicted.
Is this errant buffer when using 3D or 2D track, or both?

Mark,

I've just bought this route in the sale and must say that so far it looks pretty good. Is there a fix for the Newcastle buffers 'bug' in the pipeline?

If you (or anybody else) can't wait for an official fix, how proficient are you in the World Editor?
In theory it's a pretty straightforward thing to fix, the biggest problem (a la WCML-N errant buffers at Glasgow Central) could be the scenery making it difficult to select the track---that's easily worked round though.

Not proficient at all I'm afraid but I did successfully follow the step by step instructions to fix the Glasgow Central buffers someone posted. A project for after Christmas I think.
