Just Trains Newcastle to Edinburgh - Now Available

Post by theorganist »

Can't see a thread for this but pointed out on another forum that this has appeared on Just Trains in development pages

http://www.justtrains.net/category/in-development

Looks exciting, probably the most scenic bit of the line!

Looks not bad from the screenies although Edinburgh looks a bit sparse, that said it is a work in progress. Craigentinny and Potbelly junction area looks very good!

Judging from screenies a while ago, I believe it's Daren Porter's work and so definitely one for me to buy.

This gives us really good prospects for chained scenarios (and if the 91+mk4s appear soonish), 4 parts from London to Peterborough, York to Newcastle (on new DP simulation route), Newcastle to Edinburgh then on to Dundee (not with a 91 of course).

Yes and no. He has stated on another forum that he was involved with the early work (the early screenshots) but no longer involved.

Darren hasn't been involved with this route for around 2.5 years, the route has been a combined/team built project by Mully Gwynne (of SECML fame) and myself and has limited amounts of work by Darren, much of it having being replaced when he left the project some time ago.

Edinburgh is very much WIP as stated above.

Hopefully some screens of the section south of Berwick will appear in due course. I can assure you now, this one won't disappoint :)

2.5 years :o eeeek! This is why I'm more than happy to pay good money to developers, the amount of time and effort what goes into the routes is shocking. Living in Newcastle, this is a must have route for me. I also agree that the Class 91 set will fit perfectly, if/when we see it from DTG.

With the amount of ECML line that been made and is being made it seems daft that there is no 91 yet. But another must buy from JT for me.

Great! another piece of the jigsaw fitting in, looking forward to this indeed. All those hours spent waiting in Newcastle for the Inverness train, so looking forward to driving it myself!

Fantastic!

The only really interesting bit of the ECML scenically. I hope and pray that Tyne Yard, Millerhill Yard and Haymarket TMD are included. If they're not then it will seriously limit scenario possibilities.

Nice to see Just Trains back building routes again. SECML is one of my all time favourites! Would love to see Dundee-Aberdeen at some point in the future too!
