Screeching wheels

Post by dumpadillo »

Can anyone tell me if there is a way of reducing the 'screeching wheels' I get on some trains. At times it becomes unbearable even when a train is rounding a minor bend.I don't mind a small amount when changing tracks and one would expect that in real life.
Many thanks

Hi,

Now this is what i do if there is a noise that irritates me with a loco,

First download the Dav Decoder from the Library which will convert the Audio Dav files in a loco so you can hear what sound a particular Dav file makes [ in my case i use VLC Media Player to hear it ] but you may have WMP which will do the same.

Obviously you may have to convert some Dav files until you find the one Screeching the wheels, when you have found the file back it up first before you delete it, try the loco just in case it's not the right one! Back up Back up!!!

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Roger.

The flange sounds are pretty horrendous as slow moving trains round curves.

New Street station is well known for it - as are the Pendolinos...
